    Las Ramblas??????

Does anyone have any experience with this restaurant? How would you rate it - quality, variety, price, value?

We were there 2 weeks ago, our room overlooked the restaurant. One night it must have been closed, the other nights there was a good crowd. Never got to try it.

I saw a "menu" for them on their site and it showed 1 choice for breakfast, a skillet meal, 1 for lunch which was fajitas, and 1 for dinner which was steak and shrimp. I did not see any other menu for them.

Thanks, the other menu did not show anything but what I listed. Kind of weird.

I ate there twice on 2 different trips. Unfortunately I had a bad experience both times. The first time I ordered the surf & turf and requested the steak medium rare filet mignon. It came back well done and was very dry. The Manager came bye the table and ask how was everything and so I told him about the steak. He appologised. On the way out, he appoligised again and said the next time he will make sure they make it medium rare for me. It came with scallops & shrimps which were grilled and delicious but the steak was overcooked and dry.

Second time I went for the paella. The seafood in the rice was great but the rice had these snow peas that were crunchy meaning, they were undercooked. I told the waiter and again nothing. I don't know why they ask how is everything when they are not going to make it right if you are not happy.

The pros, it's outside over looking Eagle Beach accross they street, they have a guitar player who is pretty good playing soft jazz, bossa nova.

The con, service is super super slow so expect a 2 hour dinner. A nice menu of steaks, new zealand lamb chops, etc but they have a limited amount since they only operate 3 days a week. If anything opt for the early reservation. I had a 8pm reservation and wanted to order the new zeland lamb chops for my mother but they said sorry we ran out. If they over cook your food they won't do anything about it except appologise. In my case they probably ran out of filet mignon so they couldn't cook me another medium rare as I asked.

I once had a bad experience at Matthews were they also over cooked the filet mignon. The waiter told the Manager and the Manager came over to my table to personally appologise. He asked me if he could make it right and bring me another steak. I said no because i was half way through the steak He insisted and I said not necessary I'm getting full. He came back with a nice medium rare steak with 6 large shrimps, mashed potatoes the works. It was a big difference in tasted from medium rare to well done.

I rather eat at Matthew anytime over Las Ramblas...And the ocean view at Matthews is beautiful..They also don't run out of food!

Have dined here 3 times and the food was very good.Prices were reasonable and the staff was so friendly. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Would recommend
