Question Le Dome

I have been making all my dinner reservations for my two week trip in December and have only 2 dates to fill. Not having been to Le Dome in about 5 years I thought I would give them a try. We enjoyed our meal there 5 years ago but some of the reviews of late (on restaurantsaruba.com) have made me a little nervous. So, I am coming to "our" people for their comments.....

Randi, where else are you going? I have never been to leDome, its never hit my radar so we have no opinion....Are you looking for a fine dining slot?

I am not necessarily looking for a fine dinning spot but with two teen aged sons who will not eat fish, we tend to end up eating a lot of meat and Italian!
So far, Yemanja (never tried that one yet),Casa Tua, Matthew's (if they ever email me back), Blossoms (both Japanese and Chinese), Gianni's, L G Smith, Madame Jeanettes, Mirandi's, Screaming Eagles, El Gaucho, and Chalet Suisse.

Not all of these are with our kids but a good chunk of them are.

Any other suggestions??

Besides Sunset Grille, we took our daughter to Passions. She eats seafood, but I do not eat fish. My filet mignon was excellent!

We had a special occasion dinner. This was our first time since the new owners. Price are high, but it was okay, I wanted an experience. The appetizers were great--had the scallops ($17). For the main course I had the fish from Spain. Could not believe it. It was 2 mounds of mash potatoes with 2 guppies on top. Not really guppies, but sure looked they them. Well they were strong tasting, so I had to mix them into the mash potatoes. I not a big eater, but I did leave hungry. Must husband had the rack of lamb, & it was very rare and not tender. The waiter had some friends, so we had a hard time getting his attention. Bill came to $175 and we left 25% tip. Waiter did not appear to be happy with 25%. I preferred LaDome with the old owners, they always made it fun.
