If you want a cheaper ride downtown, hop the bus (the stop is right in front of the Westin) and take a ride down to Iguana Joes. They have great fajitas! My husband and I like Don Carlos in the harbor, across from the Crystal Casino. The fare is Italian, and it is not real expensive. The atmosphere is nice. Tomato Charlies has really good pizza. The salad there was great! Good luck with your wedding!

Passions Restaurant http://www.passions-restaurant-aruba.com/ on the beach at the Amsterdam Manor. I had the Filet Mignon last Friday and it was perfect. dh and dd enjoyed their seafood. I could not think of anymore romantic spot to have a wedding dinner than on the beach under the stars.

I checked out the web site and it is open Thurs-Sun. We are getting married on Aug 12th which is a Tues. I was hoping to eat at one of the restaurants included at the Divi or Tamarijn. (on a budget) Thank you for your advice.

Okay, sorry misunderstood, "We can eat at the Tamarijn or Divi." Thought you meant either somewhere reasonable for a wedding dinner OR at the Tam/Divi.

Anyway for dining at the Divi/Tam, your best selection would be to reserve a table outdoors at the Red Parrot at the Divi. A "steak and potatoes eater" could easier order a beef tenderloin or their churrasco without the sauces.

Only downside is that you will not be able to reserve it until your arrival or two days prior to dining at the Red Parrot, whichever comes later.

The plus is that if you are staying at the Divi/Tam it is included in your all inclusive package.

I would recommend Madame jeanettes or if some want fish, try Flying fishbone. They also serve some chicken and good steak. restaurant is right on beach and people go barefoot in the sand, including waitresses. 1/2 hour ride from tamarijn (15 minutes past airport) and approx. $30.00 each way for a cab (4 people). Maybe rent a car that day and drive yourselves.

if you decide to stay at the tamarijn/divi aruba resort for dinner, make sure you make a reservation ahead of time for the Red Parrot restaurant on the beach at the divi aruba. See their menu and pictures at www.megaresorts.com

another suggestion would be to walk over to the manchebo 's French Steakhouse behind alhambra casino. (4 resorts over from Tamarijn). Get the ambassadors special. free golf cart shuttle may even take you there from Tamarijn, or at least to the alhambra casino and then walk 2 minutes.

Thanks for responding. I think the Red Parrot seems like the way to ge. Everyone in our group loves the good old fassion steak and potatoe meal. Sounds perfect. I originally told my wedding coordinator we wanted Paparizzi. I still think I would like to go just not that night. One more thing-what is churrasco?

Arubalisa....this is a first for me....disagreement with you.

We were at Passions last year with three families and all were disappointed. One family was strictly "meat eaters" and found that aspect of the menu to be quite limited. One family had young kids and let's just say the length of walk to the restroom was "inconvenient". Service was slow and visit number two to restroom was, you guessed it, right when food was delivered. Our family....by the time we got our food it was so dark we couldn't see what we were eating.

It is a place for Romance! Nice to see that you and dh are still so much in love. Happy anniversary.
