restaurants

Hi, all

Unfortunaly got back from our vacation and back to 8 to 5 NYC reality.

While in aruba, I was able to go to the following restaurants and here are my feelings about them

Madame Janette - it was one of the best meals we ate. Argentinian steak was great. Atmosphere was relaxing. The only mishap we had were mosquitos (bring your offspray).
Iguana Joe's - great as always. Bought their hot sauce.
flying fishbone - Romantic and great seafood.
Marandi - this restaurant reconfirmed my belief that aruba's best restaurants are located away from high rise hotels and hidden in surreal places.
Papiamentos - I didn't like the food at this place. Oh yeah, pool only attracts mosquitos, they should cover it up and make a dance floor or something.
GIANNI's - it's an ok place, i've had better italian food
Chef's Table - it's ok, not the best.
Pizza Bob's - the most cheapest lunch, 12 inch pizza and free water galore....

We spent a week in Aruba and there are the restaurants that we tried that we haven't tried back in 2005.

Among all these restaurants, I liked Madame Janette the most because of food, and Flying Fishbone for the setting.

Any questions, post or email.

Life is funny in NYC, especially on Broad Street. Aruba is my cure!.

bingo

I am always trying to try new restaurants and some of your postings on Bingo seem interesting. However, I can't find any pictures of what the restaurant looks like today. Can anyone elaborate on the atmosphere, food ( I realize this is very personal) and general comments that would be helpful.
Thanks

There are a couple of photos on their website http://www.bingoaruba.com/

ArubaAmy will have some comments and probably photos about Bingo when she returns from Aruba on Saturday.

In Bingo you get great value for your money, and they have the most smiling waitresses on the island. Frans and Mike behind the bar always make sure that everybody is happy! Nice atmosphere with the mixture of regulars and tourists. I love Bingo and visit them many times during a stay in Aruba. Highly recommended

Bingo

Thanks for your help everyone. I went on their website and looked at their pictures but they aren't overly helpful to see what the actual restuarant looks like. They mostly have pictures with people. I would like to see what the inside looks like with the tables set and a view of the dinning room. Can anyone tell me if the inside is comparable to another restaurant in Aruba.

Thanks,

the dining room's tables are large, square and teak. nice comfortable chairs.
the dining room is open air and is nothing fancy to say the least.
if i had to make a comparison, i would say it compares with tulip @ mvc eagle beach or with fololis the italian place at lacabana. no table cloths.

it is the kind of place where you could wear shorts and a tee shirt and feel right at home.

the owner is renovating that front section as i type.

Try Pinchos Grill & Bar - L. G. Smitth Blvd 7 at Aruba Surfside Marina. Make a reservation because this place was very busy. 583-2666. Great atmosphere and good food. The bartender was very entertaining and all the people were very nice. First time we went there was in March of 07" I don't know if this is a new place or we just never discovered it, but we'll definately be going back. We'll be in Aruba 9/29-10/7 staying at the Riu but we'll still hit this restaurant.

Pinchos Bar and Grill

Is that the place just before you get to Marandi's (old location)? I went on the website and it looks very nice. What kind of food do they serve? They don't have a menu listed? Thanks for the tip. I think we will try it.
