we have been to the LUCY's in NOLA and in Key West.

we only had snacks, so cannot comment on the food.

Looks like my kind of place. I hope they keep a similar menu in Aruba. Here's a link to the NOLA menu:

Looks like I have to find my old "BAGGIES". Here's a pic of my VW Bus window I saved before we junked it.

Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant

Opening sometime around Feb. 2018 in the old Don Carlos location downtown.

    Yes, it's a chain.

Wasn't Carpe Diem in the old Don Carlos location? That's a good location for a place like this, but I wish it was in Palm Beach.

i know it was mentioned that it is a "chain", but imo, for me if it being a chain/franchise is a non issue.
there are plenty of chain places in aruba........ranging from holiday inn, marriott, best western mickey d's , dunkin, ruth's chris etc...

this should be a fun place and i hope it is a success.
i have been to 2 other Lucy's.......NOLA and Key West.
both of those places were awesome.
schexc it will indeed be good timing for you and your bride.
i hope it is opened when you are on island.

    my concern is the location
many of us do head downtown.
but so many more folks do not venture downtown and that is unfortunate.
    downtown has much to offer.

    i hope Lucy's is successful.

We're not "chain" people on the island, as we prefer catering to the local establishments. We'll give it a try and see if we enjoy the atmosphere. We're more the casual type so it could be fun. We don't mind going downtown, just usually stay clear when there are a number of ships in town.
