    Lunch choices

Everyone posts their "list" of restaurants to hit for dinner while on the island, and most of us have our favorites. Does anyone have a place for lunch that is special or a must do? I know it's hard to give up beach time for something as trivial as lunch. We enjoy lunch at West Deck and try to get there at least once a trip. Sometimes it is the first meal we have when arriving and it's been the last on the way to the airport at least once.

We never travel for lunch. We always eat by pool even when we are on the beach except when we have the the club level and then we eat there most days.

If we do lunch it tends to be in a place like West Deck or Bugaloe, or just snacks out on the balcony. When we stayed at the Divi, it was grab a plastic plate, fill up at the buffet and sit at the Pelican Beach bar. This trip it will probably be, raise our flag from our beach chair at the Bucuti.

Bugaloe is probably my favorite for lunch. We also order from the beach servers when we are staying at a resort where that is offered. The wings at the Surf Club became routine for us on the beach. Scotts Brats is another go-to. I think a new favorite will be Nos Clubhuis. Do you see the pattern? Who has to leave the beach for lunch?
On Eagle Beach, our favorite so far was Pega Pega at Manchebo.

Because we're usually tearing around doing stuff for the house, we tend to do quick hits for lunch: Mickey D's (which I reviewed satirically), Wendy's, Subway and other crap-taculars.

But sometimes we'll slow down and hit a local: something like "080" where we'll have something greasy and a "bucket special" of Heinekens. And we always try and hit the "Pastechi House" when we're downtown for a quick, local hit. We ate at "Bright Bakery" a few times but tend to pick it up and take it home so we can get right to the pool. And we LOVED the cap-salon from the food truck near the Sherman-Williams store.

There used to be a wonderful place in Paradera called, "The Aruba Chef" that had, hands down, the best lunch on the island... and CHEAP!! Sadly, it closed a few years ago. I think they do catering now.

We've had lunch at "Bugaloe" and "Moomba" and. while both were okay, we wouldn't go out of our way again.

And then there's Price Smart: The Spouse claims they make the best burger on the island. OINK!

Don't get me started about "Big Mama's" at Baby Beach: NEVER again.

Pega Pega 'cuz it is on the beach and has icy cold Brights...... and Manchitos for DW and Tracey.....! For Palm Beach..... Bugaloe or Salt and Pepper if we were willing to leave the beach.

I usually eat a sandwich in the room after the beach or I might order a pizza from Pizza Bob. The only other time might be on the first day if I get there early and have a few hours before check in. In the past I have gone to Casa Vieja for lunch, The West Deck, Bugalu, Pega Pega, Matthews. On my next trip I arrive at 11:30am so most likely my room won't be ready and I so I will eat at the Islander Grill to kill time and go for a swim at the pool.

I usually make sandwiches and bring them to the beach in our cooler. At least once each trip we hit the food truck in the parking lot at Eagle Beach. It's always inexpensive, delicious & more than enough food for the family.

If we are out & about we like to stop at West Deck or The Paddock. The Pastechi House is another must stop if we are downtown.
