    Lunches on Aruba

It seems like most discussions are on where to have dinner in Aruba (and, yes, I have most of my reservations in place).

My question is, where are good places to have lunch?

I think I will be downtown for a couple of days, to take the Atlantis Submarine and to go on a helicopter ride. So, there must be someplace in that area that must be open during the lunch hours and is worth visiting. Any thoughts of places that are within walking distance of the helipad?

This will also leave me with 2 lunches up around the low-rise resorts, although I could be convinced to travel over to the high-rises. Any must-eat locations up that way?

I'm also thinking of lunch at Boca Prins on the Saturday that we're driving around the island by Jeep.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Downtown - we like CILO for lunch. There are quite a few places walkable from the helipad.

High rise area - we like Le Bistro, Rembrandt's, and the Bugaloe for lunch

Eagle Beach/low rise area - we like Amsterdam Manor's beach bar, Tulip, and Matthew's for lunch.

If there's one place we can't miss for lunch it's the Bugaloe. Good lunch food, drinks, and service and a nice relaxing day on the end of a pier enjoying the view of the water/beach.

    I couldn't agree more Amy!!

And to add a nice place for lunch downtown - De Suikertuin, which is located in Wilhelminastraat

Casa Tua and Hung Palace at thr Renn Marketplace are also good. Used to like Cafe Plaza but wasn't happy last visit.

I think I will add Bugaloe as a place to have lunch on one of the days. It sounds like a good place to relax for a while.

Downtown, I was considering 2 restaurants. So, perhaps Cilo or Iguana Joe's might work. A good view can't hurt.

But, as I was looking at possibilities, I got to thinking maybe I need to add a special lunch. Friday will be my girlfriend's birthday. I already have plans for a helicopter flight and dinner at Passions that night. The question then is, where for lunch? And a possibility is 'Windows on Aruba'. That appears to be a nice restaurant and they do serve lunch. That might make a good impression.

I'll still be doing a lunch downtown, after the submarine ride. So, that information will still be put to good use.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, everyone.

Bugaloe is a nice lunch... It's awesome out on that pier. And the prices are much cheaper than most of the hotel restaurants!

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to add 2 or 3 of those restaurants to my list of places to have lunch. Then we'll see if we stick to the plan once we get there... :^)

    pega-pega

We always enjoy our lunches at Pega-Pega Beach Bar at the Manchebo. Downtown we like lunch at Casa Tua Barcelona.
