Ok, it's time for the restaurant to reach out here and make it right.

after our fiasco at MADAME JEANNETTES and lack of concern for our bad meal I am on a crusade for restaurants to make things right. Bad press doesn't help.

PERFECT case in point, bad meal at PASSIONS one visit, mgr reached out to us and made it right. It is now one of our MUST visit restaurants. We appreciated him stepping up and out!!! It won't be forgotten❤️

In my opinion you created your own FIASCO in Mj, you had plenty of choices to get your Waiter or Management ( specially if your a long time customer of MJ ) involved during your dinner at my place or pm me later here over the forum even get in contact with us via the restaurant email to explain what whent wrong in your opinion. But instead, you chose to compare my food in an Official Aruba Forum with a Chicken fastfood chain and my sauce to Gravy on top of that you ask for an apology and compensation from me ???? I never had any problem to set the record straight if i feel we did something wrong and will not have it in the future but giving my food ugly names and downgrade them will surly not help me to be polite here .
The Dishes you referred to are Peoples Favorites for many years now and why i should change them the same Lamb and Shrimp you didn't liked during your stay at Mj i sell thousands of times before your visit and after and Folks rave about them in Facebook instgram etc...

    Kasi,

a few honest observations ....And to finish off the story
Your restaurant was busy filming a commercial that evening.
Our servers were very busy watching the commercial being made, hence we were ignored.
I can post those pictures of the film crew, the smiling actors, the 1000 takes they did.
We were no priority... Water glasses unfilled, salad dressing seriously watered down, no "how is your meal" going, nothing. Perhaps an off evening, perhaps a better show going on.
    You know better than I.

We asked for you honestly. I find it hard to believe that you were not in the restaurant when you had a large production going on with a film crew.

We were frankly tired, and upset over the service and meal. Just being honest Kasi. Put yourself in our place. Film crew and mini show going on was the priority of our entire area.

again ... Just being honest here. We are not looking for compensation, again honestly.

    Wow Kasi,
After that response you gave Cindyo, we would be afraid to speak to you. We have been on this forum for years and respect Cindyo's opinion very much. We will be in Aruba in December and MJ's is now off our list. As they said you were not there to speak to. Every restaurant is entitled to a bad night. The only fiasco we can see is your response!

    Kasi,

We've asked for you on every visit since we (CindyO and I) joined this Forum.....so we're talking about eight to ten visits. You have never been there (or, chose not to make yourself available). I don't know if you were out, or simply out of touch. Your successful restaurant simply isn't what it used to be.

I concur with EVERYTHING CindyO said I'm her review. As for the lamb review.....regardless of what you claim, it was NOT the same dish this past visit. Whatever that substance was that was poured all over it, it was not the same as it had been in the past.....not remotely the same.

Not looking for compensation, not looking for anything, just felt the need to reply to your own post.

Its not the poor review that kept us away from MJs, it is the arrogant and argumentative responses from the chef. Case in point, you weren't available the night of the negative experience but you claimed to know exactly what gravy/sauce was or was not served. Questioning a long time customer's word, and coming at them on this visitor forum is not winning over any new customers. For us, your harsh repsonses is a huge turn off and the primary reason we didn't even bother trying to get a reservation.
Not sure when, but we will be back

    All I can say is....WOW!

I read a lot of reviews but I don't get tempted to "chime in" as often as I used to but I am today!!!

A few years back we had a horrible experience at MJ's, however, we did write to them and they nicely gave us complimentary meals the following year. I wrote about it and the meal was excellent and they renewed our faith in them.

Having said that, we did return the following year and found the food not to be of the same quality and caliber and the staff was certainly not very attentive. This was one of our issues in past years (except the year we were returning for our comp meal). So I only bring that up BECAUSE of what has transpired on this thread. I want to concur with CindyO and RobO's assessment of our last few times at MJ's it just hasn't been the same.

I understand that reviews both negative and positive are the lifeblood of one's business but I am awestruck on Chef Kasi's response. One can either bury their head in the sand to what your customers are saying or do something about it. It seems many of the "old" regulars are giving you the same feedback. Why don't you ask us what is the problem instead of lashing out? Unfortunately, the angry response will not solve anything.

BTW, with respect to Bucanners, it has been off our list for many years now. In our opinion too many better places to go and too many other options.

I must say that we haven't been to MJ's in the last six trips, so I can't comment on their latest food or service offerings. However, my wife has been insisting that we return next trip, but after reading the response from Chef Kasi I question a return. We'd certainly not want to have a poor dinner experience and get clubbed over the head too.
