Madame Janettes

Question for those that really like this place.

We are going to Aruba in 2 weeks. We've tried many restaurants that we love and plan to return to.

However, I see this one getting rave reviews.

Why?

What types of foods are they famous for (i.e. what meal do you order when you go there?).

We don't drink alcohol.

I will be there with my 2 year old daughter, my wife and her mother.

Is this a good place for my group?

the atmosphere is lovely. it is a garden setting. there is music. the wait staff is kind and accommodating.

they are famous for their marvelous salads, almond crusted grouper, steak, schnitzel, creamed spinach, rack of lamb, surf and turf and so much more. we never drink there.........we usually get iced tea and coffee.

i have seen many many people with toddlers there.

enjoy :-)

They have a large, varied menu which is nice for those who like "rich" foods or for those (like me) who like lighter entrees.

I usually get one of their entrees from their Caribbean Delights section (low fat with a huge salad) or last year I was introduced to the snapper (see description below) which is now one of my favorite dishes.

Whole Deboned Yellowtail Snapper - Crispy tempura YellowTail Snapper, coconut rice, Asian vegetables, pineapple salsa

My hubby likes their pork tenderloin or prime tenderloin. He had the duck special last year though and still raves about it.

Heard this restaurant is on the steep decline from many people who have visited within the last few weeks (previously loved it). Made reservations for my upcoming trip...but now considering going to other places instead.

Reviews and comments in this forum are almost overwhelmingly positive.

My wife always counts on the Almond Grouper, we always share a Ceasar Salad and I will generally have a beef dish. We've never been disappointed and look forward to Mme. J's every year!

Always go to MJ's at least 2 to 3 times per visit. Some of the negative reviews might be sour grapes from some posters. I don't put much stock into people that don't post very often. You never know when someone is posting for ulterior motives!

MJs is always good when we go there!
