    Madame Janette's Oct.11th

    Let me start off by pointing out two things. My wife and myself have probably eaten at Madame Janette's 12-15 times over the last 5-6 years. Madame Janette's has always been our favorite place on the island for a splendid dining experience. I would also like to point out that I have never, ever, written a negative review about anyone or anything, anywhere. That is about to change. First, let me start off stating that the food was fantastic as always. What little bit we got. My $32.00 tenderloin was the size of a half dollar coin. No kidding. The server explained that portions recently have been cut way back and they are getting a lot of complaints about it.Then there was the service. It was like pulling teeth to try and get our server to come over to our table. At one point, I went and got a drink at the bar, I was so tired of waiting for our server. In my entire life,I have never had that poor of service. After complaining (which I never do!) the manager was scared to even come over and talk to us about it. I am part owner of a few fine dinning restaurants in the states and by no standards is this acceptable. My wife and I will not be returning to Madame Janette's until we here changes have been made.

    I'm shocked by your experience..... we experienced service that was slow back in July.... but never a food issue in all of our visits. Sorry you were disappointed. Mme J's is still on our list for next visit.... think I'll proceed with caution.

    i just got off the phone making reservations at mj's. i will let you know our experience after tomorrows meal. we love it there as most do

    I just heard from a great friend today that they did some BIG CHANGES their and they let some people go so I will find out more in 10 days when I get to my favorite Island!!!

    They said they hired a trouble shooter from Holland to come in their for 4 months and he made alot of changes.

    I just ate there last night and had a very good experience. I agree that the steaks are a bit small for the money but not any smaller than the past 5 years. I had a wonderful schnitzel dish and enjoyed the whole dining experience. We eat there twice in our 2 weeks here and will continue until we have an issue as you did. If I were you I'd give it another try. Everybody has a bad day and maybe you just caught yours. I hope it was a one time thing.
