My wife and I visit Aruba every year and have been to Madam Jeannette's many times.
Everyone whoís been there knows how hot it is. Unfortunately this time I observed the bus girls wipe their faces of sweat and other body fluids and than serve hot plates to guest at the table with the
cloth they used to wipe their face...I observed this more than once while waiting for my food.
I observed an elderly lady complained her food was cold, the server took it back to the kitchen but on the way she took it between her forefinger and thumb to check how cold it was. I was surprised the server touched the food with hands that obviously was used at some point to wipe or handle a cloth that was wiping body fluids from her face throughout the entire shift.
I also observed the same elderly lady ask for the manager....she talked to someone who looked like a server, the guest was told he was the manager. Turns out the employee didnít involve the manager and the elderly
lady was angered that she couldnít talk to the manager...
so she got up and had to hunt down the manager till her complaint was heard.
If someone asked why I didnít let the manager know of the unsanitary conditions I observed the reason is below. I was confident at the time that the manager did not want to make himself available to guestís, so I didnít bother.
My wife and I wonít be returning as there are so many more fine dining establishments than in the past.
