Madme Janette's and cats / Carte Blanche

I read on TripAdvisor that there are feral cats at MJ's. Is this true?

I ask because I would like to take my wife there, however, she is very allergic to cats and that would be a deal breaker.

I'm also looking at Carte Blanche. Any opinions?

We have been to MJs at least 15 times. We saw a cat there on only 1 occasion. Dont know if it was ferral or the neighbors cat. If you are concerned about it, get a table near the building or inside. The cat we saw was near the fence.

We've been to Carte Blanche twice and love it! It is definitely an "event" though and does last several hours as you chat with other diners, watch Dennis prepare the various courses, and chat with Glenn about wine (if you get the wine pairings.) It's a fun evening if you're an adventurous eater and love food.

When we went to MJ's last July we didn't see cats anywhere.

90% of MJ is outside seating so feral cats should be a non issue.

as far as ferals go, there are feral cats all over the island as well as here in the USA.
(here in W.central fla they estimate there are more ferals than people....per the feral organization in Polk co.)

my husband takes offense of my encouraging an occasional kitty up to our table at outdoor restaurants and sharing my dinner. i have no idea what "his" problem is with that!?!?!

Our last trip to MJ's was a disappointment, but largely because of the obnoxious party at the table next to us. The food was good, although not as good as our last two visits. Cats - never saw one there.

A very big recommendation for Carte Blanche. It is, as Amy says, an experience to be enjoyed over several hours. 14 people max in the restaurant around the bar in very comfortable seats with very memorable food and wine.

Enjoy.

Thank you all for the information. We've made reservations at Carte Blanche but not MJ's. We're still 3 months away but sooo excited to be there that I've started making my reservations.
