Re: Marina Pirata

FINALLY!!! I've been trying to get the word around about this restaurant for the past 5 yrs.
It is our #1 ALL TIME FAVORITE rest. on the island. The owners, Rick & his wife Hasanna are two of the most special people around. They welcome you with open arms and hearts and make you feel like family. The food is prepared VERY fresh, I for one am not a fish eater but I DO eat fish when I go there. I have tried many different kinds and enjoyed them all. However, they also offer a variety of meals, (chicken, steak) which are also very good. You couldn't ask for a better atmosphere. Your dining experience at the Marina Pirata will make a lasting memory on your trip to Aruba. You have to try it at least once (you will be back).

Has anyone been to Marina Pirata lately and care to comment?

Our family has not been since September of 2006. I have read a lot of negative reviews in the past 6 months so trying to decide whether we should give it a shot.

We have always loved the location, the fresh seafood and of course the affordability.

Be very careful what you ask for you just get it!!!! As more and more of the lesser known Resturants and local hot spots get discovered by more and more visiters it seem that these places seem to lose more and more of what made them attractive in the first place...be it the atmosphere, the food, the service, the fact that it's not crowded....whatever it was. I see this happen more and more often lately. I Really do want to see places like these grow and prosper, just not at the expense of what got them to where they are today.

Thank you so much for the post on Marina Pirate, I was there in 2005 and we went to eat there, it was my favorite place out of everywhere we went to eat but for some reason none of us could remember the name of it. I will be back in a week and plan to go eat here again, the barracuda was fabulous!

Hello. You said the taxi was a bit expensive to get there. About how much? I would love to try it.
Thanks!

Connie

From the low rise hotels, approximately $24 per fare each way. From the high rise resorts, $26 each way. More on Sundays. http://taxiaruba.com/new/farelist.html

We usually visit Marina Pirata on the one day during our trip in which we rent a vehicle. Depending on what you have rented, this will be less expensive than the taxi ride. Right now Royal Car Rental is asking $35/day for a compact car rental which does not include the 15% discount (Apr, May, June).
