Kathy Matthew's Beachside is at Casa del Mar. If you know where Alhambra Casino is (near the hospital), CDM is right behind the casino. If you are looking for good Italian food, I would not recommend Matthew's. It is not a Italian restaurant. They call it Italian night because they offer a free Caesar salad when ordering an entree. There is a new restaruant close to there called Ellioti's. I haven't eaten there as it opened the day after I left in April. Its next to Pizza Bob's in Costa Linda parking lot. I read couple of negative reviews but mostly positive.

Matthews http://www.matthews-aruba.com is at Casa del Mar http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.5389489&lon=-70.0624967&z=18&l=0&m=b in the low rise area. Definitely not within walking distance of the high rise resorts. All together about 3 1/4 miles.

ok, I know I am going to get a lot of flack for what I am about to say but...

We went to Matthew's last December as we are always on "the hunt" for new places to eat. We found the location/restaurant very nice but the food average. We ate the off the regular menu. From experience, I have found that usually those "special" themed nights the food isn't amazing anywhere.

We stay at the Surf Club and are going to try Azzuro, which is at the Playa Linda (walking distance) instead of Gianni's this year. We like the food at Gianni's but too much frustration with the service.

randi, what kind of flack ? thanks for your input
I will look at the Azzuro menu ? I didn't care for gianni myself last year, but alot of people staying at the Radisson, loved it, so I will assume it was just us, have to give it another try

In June Azzuro was really good. I also think Matthew's was really good.
We are going back to Aruba in September and planning to eat at both.

We also tried Giannis last Sept and for a lot of money we got very small portions-
But isnt Azzuro owned by the same people--- if its owned by the same people can it be a total different experience then Gianni?

Matthews has an all you can eat rib night that people rave about - we have gone on their special nights (they have them almost every night so you really can't avoid them) but ordered the regular meal. We enjoy the restaurant but would go to Elliotti's for Italian in that area and to Azzurro in the high rises.

We have tried all of the above, but went to Casa Tua across from the Radisson and found this "personally" to be the best.
