    Matthew's Beachside

What are your thoughts on Matthew's? Its at the Casa Del Mar which is in Eagle Beach but is that by Paradise Villas or Amsterdam Manor?

It's closer to Aruba Beach Club, Alhambra casino area. Very good food, great location and the drinks were very nice when we stayed there a few years ago.

Thanks Jacki but since I'm not familiar with Eagle Beach. So you would hit that place before you would hit say Paradise Villas? I'll let my hubby check the map.

Matthew's is near the large Divi complex, closer towards town, not too far from the supermarkets. The setting is lovely, food and drinks are good. We usually eat there once on each trip. Last year, we discovered Ricardo's, which is next door at Aruba Beach Club. I've heard that Ricardo used to work at Matthew's, but I'm not sure. We liked the food better at Ricardo's.

We have had a couple good to average meals there. My husband described the filet as "melt in your mouth". They have a rib night and an Italian night but you can always order off of their regular menu. I enjoyed the grouper but it was nothing special.
We like having breakfast there. They have a good menu at a reasonable price.

Yes their surf and turf filet and jumbo garlic shrimps with garlic mashed melts in your mouth. It's the best steak I've had on the island!

This is also a great place for breakfast. They have an American breakfast for $7.95 that includes 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, toast and coffee or tea. You sit next to the beach, open air with roof and watch the waves while little black and yellow birds flutter around. www.matthews-aruba.com/menu
The breakfast menu has the specials at the bottom. We eat at least 1 breakfast here each trip to celebrate our very first meal ever on the island in 1996. It was the Pelican restaurant at the time then became the Gondola and now Matthews.
