The restaurant at Mr Jazz is not open yet. People now only go there for the nightlife. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday there's a live salsa band. It's pretty fancy and the dancing is great.

Mr Jazz is situated at the Paseo Herencia mall right in front of the Holiday Inn hotel at Palm Beach.

Salsa Greetings,

Reggie

Haven't heard anything yet about the food... went by last Friday night... was turned away because my adorable Sketchers were too close to being "sneakers", unacceptable dress.

Music by "The Bilongos" should be excellent, as Jairo, their singer, is well known and loved all over the island. But, one would note that all locals report it is not jazz, it is not latin jazz, it's just straight-ahead latin music. So, in spite of the Chucho Valdez name (a great Cuban jazz artist), anticipate the kind of salsa and latin music you hear all over the island, not jazz.

I believe I heard that they have the Bilongos playing on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Update:

Mr. Jazz is now open for food as well. They serve great tapas at $6 each. Their restaurant is open as well with great food. You can enjoy the live band now from Wednesday till Saturday every night starting around 10:30.

Normally they start off with jazz, as the night progresses they continue with latin jazz and later at night they play salsa, merengue and more latin music. They have lately also been playing a lot of 'American classics'. They can play everything and play everything very well.

Salsa Greetings,

Reggie
