Mulligan's, Moomba, and Blossoms reviews...
ok, i just got back from a week in paradise and thought i would post my reviews. i am gonna break it up into a few posts. i also want to say that my food expectations are a bit high, i am a foodie and have done catering and owned a high end dessert business myself....i also do private cooking classes.
Mulligan's--- We got in on sunday afternoon, we picked mulligans because it was a long day and we wanted to just stay at our resort that night. the restaurant is comfortable and it was nice sitting in the open air above the golf course. our waitress started out great. we ordered a few appetizers, they were big enough to share, i had the lobster bisque, son and hubby had the french onion soup. my soup was very good and they enjoyed theirs. for dinner son had the burger and fries, hubby had surf and turf, i ordered the mixed grill. this is were it fell apart. their meals came and she brought me the wrong dinner. she took it back and i urged them to eat theirs. when they were done i finally got mine and it was supposed to have ribs, chicken, and beef. it was missing the beef. i ate what i got and it was good....but i wouldnt choose this restaurant again for dinner...maybe lunch. the price was ok for what it was. Moomba---I originally wanted to do moomba on our first night. i thought the atmosphere and location would put us in the "aruba vacation" mood! i should have done it...moomba was great! the restaurnat on the beach under the twinkly lights, with the trees was fantastic. we all loved it. it was great with son because he could play pool and we could get a few minutes alone. lol we started dinner with the fried calamari, the crab cakes, and son had the cajun chicken strips. they were all very good.(the cajun strips were not too spicy and would be ok for small kids). hubby had the filet mignon, son had moomba burger, i had the grouper filet. hubby's steak was very good, nice sized, and cooked to how he asked. burger was very good(i am hoping the kid orders something other than a burger this week!) and my grouper was fantastic. we all enjoyed our meal and had fun playing pool and havings drinks. really good meal for the money and the place was great! service and people were great. Blossom's---all i can say is i would have eaten here every night and been happy! lol it is a fantastic japanese/chinese restaurant. service was great! we had shrimp tempura, one of the best i have ever had! we also shared a blossom platter(pu-pu platter). son had the wonton soup and we had miso. both were very good. we were at the tepanyaki table so hubby had the surf and turf (got son off the burgers and hubby is ordering filet every night!!!) son had the general tso's, and i ordered the seafood platter. it had shrimp, lobster, scallops and salmon. the lobster that came with both our dinners was a very good sized tail. everything was perfectly cooked and i wanted to keep eating. way more than enough food....i had enough left over for lunch the next day. we were all very happy with the service and the food. a very good choice. gonna take a break...then i will continue with another post about El Gaucho, Old Man and the Sea, salt and pepper, and Gianni's...... |

I like Moombs very much for the bar and some of the food - but found the Moomba Burger to be sub-par and over priced!
