Need help deciding! Please come in...

My Husband and I are staying at the Tam... And we are very excited with the price we got. It was cheaper than not doing AI. Still, we would like to eat out a few nights while in Aruba, as we hear the food is really good...

Also, we want to do some excursions.... and I am needing advice on whether or not we should rent a car for 1 or more days, and also, what is a MUST do and a MUST eat?

Right now on my list of restuarants, I have:

Wacky Wahoos
Marina Pirata
Madam Jeanettes
Passions
Flying Fishbone
Old Man in the Sea

As there are 6 restaurants on the list and we are going for 7 nights, I need to know which ones are better than others. I would like to eat a few times at hotel.

So... Which maybe are the top 3 or 4? And what are some excursions we should not miss?

Thanks so much in advance!!!! BTW we are going Nov 20th-27th if that helps.

By staying at the Tam you can do Windows on Aruba for $30pp off the main menu, It has great sunset views & after the sun goes down you have the lit up Divi Links golf course, excellent food, service & ambiance(very classy) and only a golf cart away. Passions,Omats,& FF imo Passions. Oh and by the way Windows is enclosed and ac'd(nice on those windy nights) tell them your celebrating something for free glass of bubbly!

The excursion I would not miss is a sail with Capt'n Anthony & Crew on the Tranquilo (6hrs. total, 2hr, sail to Spanish lagoon & mike's reef 2 hr. snorkel, (lunch & drinks included), 2 hr. sail back, take the BOW, last time $60pp. At the resorts places to eat Red Parrot at the Divi & Papierze at the Tam. (say hi to Edwin,John, & Andrea 2 bartenders & and the pizza chef). On your ? of a car do 1 day to explore(when on the ruff side DON'T drive in the sand!) start off at the lighthouse, end up at baby beach, then on the way home stop at Charlie's Bar est. 1941 in San Nicolas for a cold one.

Jocelyn here are some thoughts...

Flying Fishbone OR OM&TS- both are next to one another. Personally would go with FFB.

FFB, OM&TS & Marina Pirata a rental car will be much much less expensive than a taxi.

Like Sunny Beaches said, if you wish to dine off property, for the money, for fine dining, you cannot beat the offer at Windows on Aruba.

In place of FFB or OM&TS, imo, substitute the Screaming Eagle. If the SC does not interest you, in June, we also had an excellent meal at the Chef's Table.

While at the Tamarijn, at least try the Red Parrot. We have had our fair share of worse meals "off property" in recent years. Their coconut shrimp, Dutch onion soup, Caesar salad, Lomito Famoso (beef tenderloin) and Churasco a Moda, among other items, are all delicious.

At Paparazzi at the Tamarijn we enjoy the Prosciutto E Sopressata, again, Caesar salad, Frutti Di Mare and my favorite, Rinforzare E Salsa Delia Senape (beef tenderloin with cheese ravioli and grain mustard butter sauce).

My top choices in no particular order:
Screaming Eagle
Passions
Windows on Aruba
Marina Pirata
FFB
Chefs Table
Red Parrot

Rent a car for the number of nights that you will be heading to Savaneta for the FFB, OM&TS and/or Marina Pirata. During the day you can use the car to head off to do some touring as well as shopping and snorkeling from shore.

Everyone has their favorites. Ours include:Tranquilo South Side Sail, Lunch & Snorkel, Jolly Pirates Sail, Snorkel, Swim & Swing, the island helicopter tour and an ATV or jeep tour to tour the island.

Snoopy,

You have great choice restaurants, and I would take Arubalisa advise that the restaurants within TAM are also great.

I like Windows on Aruba, and Paparazzi, within TAM. Off Premises I like all the ones recommended plus, La Dolce Vita,Italian - L.G.Smith's for Steak, - Azull, International

Nice to see you still want to get out and about even though you are AI.

Thank you so much for all the great advice! I heard the red parrot and paprazzi are good. I am so excited. I was only in Aruba for a day during a cruise stop when I was in my teens.

The Tranquilo tour sounds wonderful. We are going for our 1 yr anniversary so we definitely want some romance.

Another question... What are some of the best local seafood offerings? Anything to stay away from? I love fish and seafood
