    Need restaurant help

    Hello,

We been going to Aruba yearly the past five years and always seem to go back to our favorite restaurants. This year, we are going for 12 nights and I like your opinions/suggestions regarding these restaurants that we have not tried yet. We have three days without reservations so which one of these restaurants would you leave out and why?

    Gostoso
    Tango
    Elements
    Matthews

Since I've only been to Matthews, I'll leave this to the experts here on the forum, but just wanted to remind you to use the search bar and find recent reviews of each place. I know Robin has been to Gostoso & a few of our members have been to Elements recently.

Elements has a beautiful setting and both the food and service is good. We did find though we did not enjoy it the evening we were there and they were offering a buffet. The food just was not warm enough. Also, you really need to have a reservation or they will not accommodate you.

Matthews was, for a time, a regular spot for us but we haven’t been in more than 4 years. The bar there is lively and the dining room is open air.

Tango is a popular spot, service is friendly and food is good. An added bonus is they usually have live music right outside their door.

While I wouldn’t dissuade you from any of your choices, I would say our favorites last trip were Yemanja and Ricardo’s.

We do have reservations, now hearing about a buffet I wonder what day they do the buffet as we don't like that?

I would skip Mathews. We love Tango, it's one of our go-to places every trip. We had an amazing meal at Elements and the atmosphere is great there too.

We stayed at Bucuti over Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving they offered buffet only. I would imagine they do buffet only on certain holidays so you should be fine. Just wanted to mention it so people are aware there is a difference.

I suggest switching Gianni's to Azzurro. They are owned by the same people, but Azzurro has a beautiful beach view, great for watching the sunset while dining. We love the atmosphere there, along with the great food. Also, no trip to Aruba is complete for me unless I go to Barefoot for dinner. We also love West Deck for a casual meal. We dined at Elements in Feb. There was no buffet. The food was good, but there weren't many things on the menu that were to our taste (no pun intended).
