Red face translated from Dutch

"New theater puts focus on competition

ORANJESTAD - The Caribbean Cinemas multiplex cinema in Palm Beach Plaza shopping center is officially open. Last night was the opening, after months of delays caused by lawsuits and additional controls. Now the case is finally open, a price war is expected to rival The Cinemas.

By our reporter: Ariën Rasmijn

Friends and enemies can not deny it, the new cinema on the first floor of Palm Beach Plaza is impressed anyway. At the press walk in the new megaplex cinema are shouts of admiration about the size of the rooms, the convenience of the chairs and how beautiful the lobby. It is the owners of Palm Beach Plaza and Caribbean Cinemas, a family business in Puerto Rico which includes cinemas in St. Maarten and Trinidad, at least not come naturally to. The construction of the cinema with 1400 seats spread over eight halls and the largest screen on the island has had the necessary delays. According to general manager Danny Lopez-Henriquez (33) has competitor Meta Corporation, owner of cinemas in the Renaissance Marketplace and Paseo Herencia out all the stops for the arrival of this new competitor to counter. "That makes sense when you have a monopoly. That you try to maintain. That Setar tried to do when the Digicel Aruba penetrated market. They have about eight lawsuits filed for the construction of the cinema to stop. That we have all won, but it does take time and effort. "Also came in the past year the Department of Telecommunication Business and fire several times through to the same rigorous checks. Henriquez: "Of course I will not say that Meta Corporation would have exerted influence to get this done. But if you always come back to the same checks, then you begin to wonder if there is not anything behind it. "

Price
The lawsuits Meta Corporation filed suit against Palm Beach Plaza and the Aruban government was still arguing out that Aruba would be too small for so much extra cinemas. The fact is that with the opening of the Caribbean Cinemas megaplex Aruba is the country with the most theater seats per capita in the world. While also informing themselves Cinemas The thirteen rooms now do not always fill. "What we will distinguish ourselves in service to our customers," said Henriquez. Everything seems to be thought, from a separate room for children's parties to disabled access. At the door are three porters who do nothing but clean the door open for you. In terms of programming there will be special screenings of films with Spanish subtitles for the Latino audience. "And there are also Chinese and Bollywood films," said Henriquez. And then there are the prices. Instead of a standard price for everyone, adults pay 13 florins (same price as The Cinemas at Renaissance), 9 children and 60 people over 11 florin florin. 3-D movies are more expensive single florin. On Tuesday and Wednesday a movie ticket costs 7.50 and you pay 9 florins a 3-D movie. "Yes, there is certainly a price war with The Cinemas", says Henriquez, "But we are prepared."

Moviegoers Delight as Megaplex 8 Opens at Palm Beach Plaza
http://www.aruba.com/news/entertainment/moviegoers-delight-as-megaplex-8-opens-at-palm-beach-plaza/

Everyone loves the movies and now there are more choices than ever before! The Palm Beach Plaza’s Megaplex 8 is now open to the public with a fabulous line up of great new movies.

Located in the Plaza’s second level, the luxurious 8-theater facility boasts small, medium and large auditoriums, jointly offering more than 1,400 seats. The theater is especially child-friendly, as baby-booster seats are available and kid ticket prices are offered at a reduced rate. High-backed reclining bucket seats with cup holders and wide arm rests guarantee optimum comfort. The theaters are all handicap-friendly, allowing special easy-access to wheelchair-bound patrons.

When the lights go off, the digital surround-sound takes the sensory experience over, paired with digital motion-picture technology. And movie-goers will be pleased to know that the Megaplex 8’s smallest screen is 32 ft wide x 16 ft tall! Two of the Megaplex 8 auditoriums are equipped with 3D capabilities.

To complement the movie experience, the Megaplex 8 offers a nicely stocked concession, game room arcade and a cheerful room for birthday parties.
The Megaplex 8 is a franchise of Caribbean Cinemas which operates 1,100 screens in the Caribbean in 52 movie-theater complexes.

It sets on the main highway, with Paseo Harencia being around the corner.
