the airport now is a huge improvement over the "old airport terminal".
i do miss the old one though.

leaving aruba is sad. a way to make the departures less painful would be a great thing.
the new restaurant that is being built is a way to improve comfort. that restaurant, hopefully will be accessible to those up in the departure areas.

and if the airport needs or wants suggestions:
and i am serious that some type of entertainment be made available for those departing.
slots, better choice of dining, (is there free wifi?) maybe a kids playroom, a larger bar....that bar is always packed tight.

and i see nothing wrong with providing a smoking area.
i do not like the fact that folks smoke in the rest rooms. eeewww

There is a bar with good hotdogs and good drinks. They have closed the AA Business Class/First Class Lounge. AA said the airport wanted to use it "for something else". It is right at gate 8 so maybe they'll do something recreational with it - we miss it though

Hi Andrea:

Let it roll off your back. There will always be someone accusing another of various things...we know it was in jest; and we need more humor in our lives...thanks

Oh god no. There's nothing worse than leaving Vegas and hearing the slot machines until you get on the plane. After four or five days in Vegas my ears are bleeding as it is, the slots at the airport are just cruel and unusual punishment at that point.

Andrea, have you been to the bar at Gate 4? It's much larger (and nicer) than the little, cramped one by Gate 6.

no, i haven't amy

our gate is usually at the far end directly across from the restrooms.
we have gone over to the bar at gate 6 and hung out having a cold beverage for a little while, but there was little or no seating and very cramped.

also too, i was unaware that the AA lounge was now closed :-

the departure area is so busy and so crowded, i would love to see the airport make that whole area move friendly and entertaining and comfortable.

many of us get to the airport 2 or 3 hrs prior to departure and waiting in those crying rooms is lousy.

if there were things to do (aside from the 2 bars) once you go trhu us customs, it would give a win win situation. the airport would see some income and the travelers would have options.
