    New Years Reservations etc..

Okay, before I pull the trigger and book the Hyatt for New Years 30th-4th (5nights) I wanted to know about the ability to be able to get reservations to eat at places so late. We have never traveled during the holidays and have no idea what to expect when the island is sold out.... Thoughts?

We typically stay at the Ritz and I really would like to dine there most evenings...we know the staff and feel so at home. I have sent a message to one of them and I hope he responds today-

    Where would you typically dine?

I'd say book reservations with the restaurants right now. It's crazy busy. Especially popular restaurants.

Or be flexible in the hours you'll dine - people have had more success landing a table earlier in the evening (before 6 pm) and later at night (after 8:30 pm).

Or you'll be crying in the McDonald's drive thru!!

We would like to dine 3x at Solanio and once at BLT, all at the Ritz- other night would be casual...we only have 5 nights.

Maybe this will be an opportunity to try something new of some of your favorites are booked. For steak, I think Tango isn't on everyone's radar but it's right across the street and you might be able to get in there.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Thanks guys! I actually reached out to the Ritz and they responded almost instantly and would be happy to have us for dinner all the nights we asked for Now all I have to do is bite the bullet and pay more than I have ever paid for a trip and its only going to be 5 nights long, it wont be at the Ritz, but it will still be amazing...I will probably book later tonight when my wife gets home.

Ah. Got it. I'm assuming all RC reservations will be booked through their concierge? That's the way we did it - they were very prompt and helpful about confirmation but we still booked in advance... this was when they first opened.

I like Andrea and Tracey's recommendations for casual... both are great. But even with those, I'd email and try to snag a table right now.

I'm there from 12/23 to 1/2! Can't wait to see the island on New Years Eve with all the fireworks. We booked as soon as airfare was available and made reservations for our dinners months ago. Glad you were able to get into the restaurants at the Ritz.
