many of aruba restaurants are pretty casual.

here are some good (IMO) not fancy places: (just naming a few)

    wacky wahoo
    barneys
    matthews
    ricardos
    hung paradise
    salt n pepper
    smokey joes
    iguana joes
    zeerovers
    B55
    hollywood smokehouse

that is only a smattering of them, hope others will add.

Bugaloe is our current favorite for a casual place. Great setting on a pier near the Hilton. In the same area, we also like Dushi Bagels, Pelican's Nest and Moomba.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Red Fish is a great casual place for fresh seafood. It can be a bit slow, so just order another cold beer or mixed drink and enjoy the person sitting next to you.

Where are you staying...? Suggest something within walking distance for your first night on the island.

My husband and I have a tradition to eat at Moomba Beach Restaurant on our first night on the island. Moomba has tables right in the sand and they have great frozen drinks. It is a wonderful place to watch the sunset and many tourists are walking by on the beach in front of the restaurant so you feel as if you've jumped right into the relaxing groove of Aruba. For us, it is the perfect formula for a first night : sand in our toes, cold frosty beverages, sunsational sunsets and reasonable prices, The perfect start for a vacation.
Moomba beach is located on Palm Beach (in between the Holiday Inn and the Marriott Aruba Surf Club). They have a parking lot so you can drive right there, park, and drive right out or it is an easy walk from any resort on Palm Beach.
