Talking Nos Conucu reopened

This locale favorite has reopened, so the fans of local cuisine can be happy again .
Just went by to check and even the peacocks are back in big numbers.

Good to hear! We've been going there since 2005 and were sad when it closed last Nov. We'll definitely be back in Sept!

They reopened May 15th. Hours are 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm except Tuesdays. Good lunch Karel with your new restaurant.

Happy to hear this news! We will definitely put it on our list again for next trip! Will be anxious to hear if the menu is the same (or similar) as it was before. Thanks for the update!

Nos Conucu was originally recommended to me a few yrs ago.
Paul, Kevin and I almost keeled over when we arrived and were seated.
We were shocked to see that animals roaming about.
Paul, the real city boy, was a little put off.
Kevin and i were out of our seats..running around the barnyard playing with the paecocks and bunnys and donkey.

I hope that folks really appreciate nos conucu for what it really is............an aruban gem!

the food is good too

hope that goat stew is still on the menu.
pick your own goat in the barnyard...............nope i am kidding

Andrea, when we went there in Sept. before they closed they had changed ownership and it wasn't the way you or I remember it....rustic with the donkey peering over your shoulder as you were eating. They did a nice job of "cleaning it up" a bit and the food was still good but we missed the way it used to be. Will be interesting to see how the newly re-opened Nos Cunucu compares to the one we used to love.

We really do hope it does reopen in the same fashion as the "old" restaurant. That's part of the charm of the place - but Andrea is right - you need to know what to expect when going there ... the family neighborhood, animals, etc. ... not what one would normally expect!

As of now, only peacocks are living at Nos Cunucu. The owner of the land has the other animals in a zoo; but will be bringing back the animals soon. They still will be on the property so people can enjoy them but I don't think they will be as close to the restaurant as they were before.

I'll post the menu as soon as I can convert it to pdf.
