    Wink obsessing.....pondering.....reviewing

my experiences...........sometimes it gets ridiculous with planning, and overthinking re: restaurants.

we will be in aruba for 15 nights and quite honestly, eating out for 15 nights is exhausting and overkill (for us).
we plan on eating in at least 6 or more nights.

however, every other day another restaurant's name pops up and we want to add it to the list.......then the obsessing and reviewing of our choices begins.

it's kind of funny though.....we are retired and here at home in our area in florida, we have tons of awesome resturants that we have access to daily.
we never give it a 2nd thought.

paul and i are at the 3 week mark from our aruba trip and lots of the conversation between us goes like this......"ok do we want to do MJs on a Friday or Saturday night?............look at Alfies menu again, is this something that looks good?............... do you think the Prime Rib at Legends is as magnificent as it looks on Facebook photo? ............ look at bavaria's menu again ...... are you inerested in giving up beach time for brunch at Windows?"

I too do all of that obsessing and pondering and Rich always says, "Whatever you want, dear. Just tell me where to be and what time." and then we wind up Happy Houring and having snacks on the beach and not ever going to most of the places I wanted to go to!

I was just saying to Tom, we have too many restaurants and not enough days! I think my definite want to try's are Legends, Alfies and Yemanja. We, of course, will hit up some old favorites. Also need to decide on where to go for Thanksgiving although we're leaning towards something at either Marriott Stellaris or the Ritz so we can give to casino a go.

we play it by ear. we are there for 23 nights so there is no way we can go out to eat every night. we plan a few dinners with some couples we know. but outside of that, we decide on the fly. I hate being on a schedule and I don't know what I feel like doing until it comes. if we can't get a reservation, so be it. to me, Aruba is mostly the daytime, the beach. I'm happy with casual places. Like I said, we have friends that go the same time so we have reservations for five different nights. Outside of that, que sera sera!!! To me, just being in Aruba is enough.

We also are there for 15 nights and I only plan of going a maybe 4-5 nights. As much as enjoy going out to eat I enjoy keeping money in my wallet....
We pick a couple of our favs then add a few new each year and then add to or subtract from our favs list.
The first week Dh has refused to come and I will be there with my sis-in-law, her granddaughter and her best friend. She is already whining about wanting to out everynight...and of course Aunt Michele (me)...has warned her about sleeping on the front porch with her suitcase if she doesn't stop...
When Dh get there on Friday he becomes the Chef-de-jour...and does all the evening meals, so we won't go out much with him coming.
So, long story long.....my headache about eating out is starting already, ,,,,,geez !!!

We are there for 12 nights this trip and I am guessing we will go out for about 6 dinners. For others we will have appetizers, pizza, or possibly a rotisserie chicken from the Surf Club.
I really want to get to Marina Pirata this trip. It's planned while we have a rental Jeep a few days, but I haven't made the reservation yet. We will either go to Yemanja or Whilemenia, but I know us better than to think we will make it to both.
I know we will go to Tango, it's Jon's favorite and I like it too. For lunch, I am looking forward to Nos Clubhuis, Pelicans Nest, and Bugaloe.
Jon has his eye on Fermins and I am thinking Grand Fish for more casual options.
The Legends prime rib does look good, but we can get that at home any time so our visit there will likely just be for drinks. We are also considering the Thursday tasting menu at The Restaurant at Tierra DEL Sol but it's a long shot.
I have finally realized that I cannot make a restaurant list.
Not sure when, but we will be back

We too gave up making a list a while back. Now we pretty much decide on the fly and will try to hit a new place or two. We do make plans for dinner a couple of nights with friends. We go for three weeks, so we don't eat out every night either. Tracey, if the shrimp burrito is on the menu at Legends give it a try, it's the best I've had anywhere.

HA!! Try being the person who's never been and deciding on a place to eat!! I've gone cross-eyed reading all the different reviews and info for places! I just want to find authentic Aruban food to try.
