Old Places (as in rum shop)
If you've ever been going to and from Baby Beach and pass out of the east end of San Nicolaas you've come very close to the Essoville Rum shop. That part of town got its name from when Esso owned the Lago Refinery, which back in the day was a handsome industrial site.
Anyway, Essoville Rum shop is right next to the Valero Gas station there and if you like your beer cold, it doesn't get any colder than there. You might find ice crystals in it. For a look at a few photos see: http://bentpage.wordpress.com/2010/1...um-shop-aruba/ Rum shops are fixtures on the island, places to stop for a beverage and a chat, standing up at the bar usually, and soft drinks are available as well as a little snack and such. Enjoy responsibly and bon dia. 44 |

![]() ![]() ![]() We know the Essoville Rum Shop very well. We stop and buy our ice cold beer on our way to the Boca Grande beach. We also stop at the ice house. Oh Yes, that cold beer also really helps when we play golf at the Aruba Golf Club. ![]() ![]()
