Passions or?

Looking for a very nice/romantic dinner. I heard passions is good for atmosphere, but what about the food?
Any other suggestions? First time going to Aruba, so we really don't want to be disappointed

passions is wonderful for a romantic dinner.

as is

flying fishbone (but more expensive and an expensive taxi ride)

as is
Madam Janette (a garden setting) personally my favorite.

Pinchos (a waterfront/dock setting) not far from the downtown area.

and then there is
Old Man and the Sea which is another higher priced meal with an expensive taxi ride.

ruinas del mar at the hyatt is a very romantic location

I've dined at all of that Andrea's mentions, except Flying Fishbone. IMHO the best food is at Madame Janettes. The menu is extensive. Something for everyone.

1 more for you to google is Windows on Aruba, it is at the Divi Links in the low rise area, different than the others, as it is not on the beach & enclosed for those windy nights. It does have wonderful sunset views & romance, along with great food & service.

Ditch the Old Man and the Sea, I can't in good conscience tell you to go there.
Madame Jeannettes, Mirandi's or Pinchos is my vote..

My vote is flying fishbone... yes about a bully brought us there, I think 35.00 each way plus tip.
did my reservations on line, our table was right in the water,

Screaming Eagle is super trendy LA style atmosphere. I think it's more fun for good cocktails or girls night than romantic since they have high ceilings and, when crowded, can be kind of noisy. I loved Old Man and the Sea but my date knew our waiter so our service was pretty spectacular. I went to Ventanas del Mar at Tierra Del Sol for the first time last week, and it was pricey, but the food was very well prepared. We also were there after the sunset so I didn't get to see the sunset over the water, but I hear it's incredible. It's a typical country club atmosphere (I felt like I was at senior prom all over again) but the whole meal just felt very right and relaxed and organic.

Used to really like Flying Fishbone for both food and atmosphere until they added too many tables making it feel less romantic and too crowded. Food is still good but the ambiance is gone for us.

Old Man & The Sea - had a wonderful time there but their recent reviews have been less than stellar lately so we're hesitant to go back.

Passions - love the food and the ambiance; toes in the sand and tables far enough apart so I don't have to hear others' conversations.

Screaming Eagle - ambiance is not as romantic as dining on the beach but their food is amazing.
