    Pelican's Nest

Day 2, we decided upon the Pelican's Nest on the Pelican pier near Holiday Inn since we could walk. It is an outdoor setting at the end of the pier. Again, we were seated at a table we sat at previously.

A recurring theme that I began this night was having a different drink at each restaurant, being a house specialty or good old stand-by. Tonight I had the Relaxer and after 2 I was relaxed. I may make it my summer drink this year.

I had the tenderloin kabob which came on rice. It was very good, and the rice very flavorful. I usually don't like rice as it is can be so bland. This had great seasoning to it. I was really bad at writing down what DH had, always saying "Oh, I'll remember". What was I thinking? I'm 50!

They did have a man strolling around the restaurant playing the guitar and serenading the guests. He would give the kids marimbas or tambourines. We couldn't understand him with his thick accent, but he played the guitar well. He sang a song not in English and when I asked him what it meant, he said he didn't speak English, so we don't know.

More drink, I mean dinner, reviews to follow.

One of my favorite places for happy hour. I too had several Relaxers there last Friday during happy hour. Very strong drinks but so good! During happy hour, they are served in plastic cups so they are not as pretty as yours in the photo.

    yes indeed strong drinks

we stopped there in May 2013 for a mid aftrnoon drink. ended up having 2 each.
had to leave our car in the tony romas lot and take a cab back to the Ren.
then had to take a cab to and from the dentist.
pretty silly/ridiculous being at the dentist feeling a bit inebriated.

Good idea Andrea! I have a dentist appointment next week, and I HATE going to the dentist even though she is a friend of mine who I really like. My dislike stems from childhood painful visits to a dentist who thought he had to drill every tooth and put silver fillings in them. I will have to have a Relaxer before my appointment next week.

I had to have a tooth removed last week. It had rotted under a crown and bridge. They had to cut bone and take it out in pieces. Wish I had been MORE than inebriated. Strangest thing that I never had a twinge of pain before the crown got loose. Glad it happened last week though because I am still not recovered and we leave in 22 days. What is in a relaxer? I think I could use one.
