Every timeshare we have stayed in has had a safe. We have stayed at Divi Village, Divi golf resort, Divi phoenix, Aruba Beach Club, Casa Del Mar, Renassance(both), Costa Linda and Playa Linda. All the hotels we have stayed at also have had safes. When we first started going they had a key. Now they are all digital settings with a 4 digit code that you choose. We have never had a problem with any one opening a safe but I guess it could happen.Happy Sunday everyone! I've been late in responding lately as my husband and I have both been under the weather. Hopefully it'll pass before next Saturday when we board that plane to ARUBA!
We have SO many choices, decisions to make. Wow! Thanks for all the feedback.
We've decided so far that we must try Pizza N More at least once and possibly Pizza Bobs if we decide on pizza twice. While I was really wanting to try Dushi Bagels, Andrea, you had a great idea about bring some bagels from home. We're thinking we'll have the weight allowance in our luggage to pack up some bagels from home as we'll be bringing a few more incidentals, i.e. kosher salt for steaks, coffee, stevia, creamer, ketchup, mustard. What we don't use up of these things while in Aruba we'll leave in our room. This will allow us room and weight in our luggage to bring fun things back from Aruba for friends and family, like chocolate. Figured the cost of things in Aruba are higher than in the states, why spend the extra money there when we can bring small amounts from home? Thanks for the idea, Andrea.
And again, thanks to everyone for their advice, suggestions too. Aside from the pizza and steaks, we'll probably be eating the rest of our dinners and some lunches out. We're going to wing it. See what sounds good and what's around where we happen to be at the time. We understand there are some pretty good restaurants within our resort. Since we chose the not all-inclusive option, we're told we can buy vouchers from our concierge to eat at the resort restaurants. We may end up doing that. After exploring the island throughout most days and having such a beautiful resort under our noses, I imagine we'll spend some evenings close-by. Do some lounging/swimming at the resort too. We'll see. We just know it's going to be a good time!
Lewny1, you mention you have a timeshare at Divi Golf & Beach. While we understand Aruba is low in crime, we will be bringing some jewelry and some cash with us. We're told there are safes in each room. Is that accurate? Would we be safe leaving our things in the room safe while we're out beaching it? We have one of the one-bedroom villas. Hoping we're lucky enough to get one of the few with the rooftop private Jacuzzi and grill. Our TA requested it for us.
6 days and counting!

Thank you for the assurance, one less thing to worry about.. I guess our biggest problem now is where can we find a parking space downtown when we go to Pizza n More and maybe the Bon Bini Fest. World problems, lol
Downtown there is a parking area by the Mall I forget the name I am sure I will remember it soon as I send this, but you will see it on the right after you go by the bridge over the water in town. I am sure someone will tell you the name of the mall. Dick.
Next Aruba trip in
i think the name is (but not certain) it is the renaissance royal plaza mall on the left across from the large and always crowded parking lot near the marina.

There is usually parking behind the bus station too, if you don't mind walking a little.

I'm not sure if you can park where the buses come in, although they were rearranging things when we were there in March. The parking lot behind the bus parking is where we usuall head. A little bit of a walk yes, but I've always found a place to park without difficulty.
Exactly - behind the bus parking.

There is quite a bit of parking at the Seaport mall. If the area by the front is full, there is more parking on the south side of the mall. Sometimes we find a place by the street in front of The Paddock. There is some more parking behind the jewelry stores towards the cruise ship terminal as well. If you go to Pizza Bobs, you can park in the Costa Linda parking lot or by the Alhambra casino.
Hi Andrea,my favorite Pizza on Aruba is downtown on Main St (trolley route) Pizza N More.
Delicious, thin crust.
agree with Andy about Lings rib eyes!!!
Lings and Super foods both have ok bagels.

my favorite aruba bakery is Le Delizza in the Noord neighborhood.
