Places to hang out with a laptop?

Hi,

I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas about where one could hang out with his laptop and do some work on it?

I guess general candidates could be coffee shops/cafes and hotel lobbies, but not sure yet which specific ones.

Wifi isn't necessarily required as long as there's good Digicel 3G coverage.

Thanks for any ideas!!!

Hi, yeah, I need to check that Starbucks at seaport mktplace.

Yesterday I looked into the Starbucks at the Paseo Herencia, but this one is pretty small and somehow it smells a lot like coffee in there. In general I like the smell of coffee, but somehow it was rather bothering yesterday.

In general I'm looking for places around Noord. They don't have to have Wifi, since I've got Digicel 3G.

Thanks!!

Caribbean Palm Village is in NOORD.
they have a restaurant on property.
it is open air.
they serve breakfast lunch and dinner so it is open pretty much all day.
if you were a paying customer, then i would imagine you could sit there and work from your puter.

Here's a link to some photos of the starbucks at the Renaissance:

I also see people on the lawn by the Renaissance suites. They have their laptops on in the evening and sort of camp out there, which means WiFi must be available.

Charlie's Bar also has WiFi but you probably won't be able to get any work done there.

Hi 44,

thanks a lot for the link with the pictures.
That starbucks looks indeed like a good place to hangout with a laptop!!
A lot more spacious then the one in Plaza Herencia.

Lol at the Charlie's Bar suggestion.
Didn't know Charlie's Bar, but the pictures I see on the internet let me doubt I get some work done, as you warned.

Do you by chance know where you could park your car at the Renaissance?

Thanks a lot!!

there is plenty of parking beside the Renaissance Ocean Suites and to the side of the Seaport Marketplace. both of these areas abut the Marketplace (and Starbucks)

there is also parking parallel to the main st and across from parliament bldg/ren marina hotel. this particular parking lot that is most congested.

Ok, great!

I'll probably head down there this afternoon.
Will report back with my impressions.

Thanks!
