Please help!

My Fiancee and I will be honeymooning in Aruba in July and was wondering how much should I budget for dining and drinking? We will be there 7 nights! Thanks a lot. I am not rich but not poor either. I am the average man, if that helps..thanks so much! Any recommendations would also be greatly appreciated!! I am just looking forward to sitting on Moomba Beach with a Balashi and going out on the Jolley Pirate!

To be on the safe side i would budget $1400 for entertainment and dinners out.
Some may think that is low.........if you are drinkers, you could spend as much as $50 or more a day on drinks. Dinners could run you anywhere from $45 to $100 a couple.

FYI, my husband and i spent 10 nights at lacabana in may.
We ate out every night.
We had no liquor or wine with our meals.
Our most expensive meal was Madam Janette and that came to $80 ( i think with tip)
Most of our dinners were in the $50 price range for the 2 of us including tip.

Now, if you are gamblers.................bring more.

IMO i think $1400 for the 7 days is plenty. Then again, if you do an adventure/tour daily that could easily be $50+ per person per adventure.

Anyone else?

I agree with Andrea...$200 a couple per day is a decent amount of spending money. You don't say where you are staying, but if a timeshare and eating breakfast and lunch "in" maybe a little less. Work out a budget on meals (beverages too if you drink) and then add on your estimated activities from there and I bet you end up right around that $200 a couple per day figure.

Minimum you should budget is $100/day...again this is the minimum if you want to do Aruba on the cheap.

Go to www.dinearuba.com and take a look at some of the menus to get an idea of prices. My favorite casual restaurant that is very reasonably priced is Bingo - open for lunch and dinner. The Bingo salad is huge - enough for two. The carpaccio appetizer is THE BEST I have ever had - again one order is enough for two. For an entree, the Bingo Brochette (beef or chicken) on a skewer with peanut sauce on the side with seasoned curly fries is excellent and only $10. And their creme brulee for dessert is fabulous. i highly recommend this place. my other favorites are Madame Janette's, Flying Fishbones, Pincho's. Enjoy your vacation - $200 a day should do it as long as you are not big drinkers and big gamblers. Add more if you plan on doing other activities like jeep tours, booze cruises, etc.

The best thing we did was went all inclusive,, It was great.. IF we went off the resort then obviously we had to pay for the drinks but we had that extra money to do so..

I agree with kspin100 - last year we did all inclusive and went out a few times and are doing it again this year. We ended up taking about $2,000 extra for nights out/shopping and we had more than enough to enjoy ourselves.
