Paul and i dined tonight at the Promenade.
Haven't been there in a few years.

They still have the $30 pp tapas/appetizer menu as well as the a'la carte menu.

We opted for the tapas/appetizer menu.

We tried a escargot YUM, seafood casserole, filet mignon, shrimp cocktail, another seafood casserole, soup, mushroom caps and mixed salad..........and i ATE dessert first! apple pie w/ ice cream. hahahahahaha

we never have room for dessert so tonight i said, dessert first.

everything was good/great.
we'd probably go again.
excellent service and very comfortable seating.

I love their chocolate cake. I didn't go myself, but friends brought it back for me. It is hard to get really good chocolate cake in Aruba. I am going to try this restaurant next time my husband comes down. Haven't been there since it was in San Nicholas.

I wanted to like the Promenade so much

The food was terrific what little we could get

. Our service was awful.

we had outstanding service. water glasses never empty and a waitress and waiter were always ready and available.

few yrs ago, our waiter (and i think his name was luigi or lou was a former waiter of french steakhouse) was mean and miserable.

he was complaining of sore back and sore knees and making us fee like we were inconveniencing him. we felt terrible having him wait on us with his maladies.

i do not know why he had no helper that night.
it was lousy service then because of his being in pain and nasty about it and that was the last time we were there.

when we made reservations for promenade, we inquired about the "wait staff" and the waiter that i mentioned in this post. they told me he is now retired and recovering from double knee surgery.

I loved this place the last time I was there (May 2009). I don't see it mentioned often on the boards. When I was there last I was with a girlfriend & on this trip I am looking forward to introducing my husband to it.

1st was apple pie
then, seafood casserole
escargot
escargot
salad

paul.......shrimp cocktail, then seafood casserole, then salad, then seafood casserole, then filet (no dessert)

we shared mushroom caps

Dont care for escargot, but other stuff looks good, where is this place in retro to the Radisson ?

it is near LINGS and SUPER FOOD @ SUN PLAZA.
the first big intersection coming into the lo rise hotel area.
big yellow building.
you have driven by it many many times.
