Pueblito Paisa Restaurant
If you're interested in getting off the beaten path and want food that is hearty and filling, try The New Pueblito Paisa in San Nicolaas. This is a Colombian joint, kind of like a diner. Around noon it is very busy with refinery workers, so good early or later. Spanish skills are also a big help.
Typical platters are the lomito, which is a steak pounded flat, grilled and sauced, chuleta Colombian, which is a breaded and fried pork chop. They also have empanadas, oxtail soup, daily specials, and so forth. The Bandeja Paisa platter is okay; I'll post later about another place where it is better. Of course there are two Maria-s working here. I should pay them extra for all the Spanish they taught me. Just a suggestion for something that may be completely different. Photos are on my blog under Aruba Local Flavor. |
