    Question Restaurant dress

My first trip next week and wondering what is dress code for restaurants i.e., steakhouses, passions etc. for guys and ladies? Is it OK to wear bermuda shorts with shirt/blouse and sneakers to most restaurants or are shoes and long pants required in some. I want to pack as little as possible. Passions looks somewhat formal but on the beach in sand?

    Thanks, Ralph

nothing is formal in Aruba!! We all wear long shorts and golf shirts, both men and woman, to almost every restaurant on the island. Only a few places require men to wear pants, no place requires a jacket and woman can wear anything!!! Very casual. Pack lightly and enjoy the laid back atmosphere in Aruba!!

Thanks Randi, well put. Sounds just like Hawaii. Would you know distance from Manchebo Beach Resort to Passions restaurant? Is it possible to walk? Are there any good online maps that would show something like this?

This map may help a little:

Passions is located on the beach in front of Amsterdam Manor. You can either walk the beach all the way down or walk the road starting at the Costa Linda. It's probably about a 20-30 minute walk depending on how fast you walk. Taxi would only take a few minutes.

Thanks Cindyo but unfortunately I'll need the long pants since I'm leaving from Boston next week.

Ralph We also fly from Boston in Nov,Jan&April and wear pants that we can re-press in Aruba if cold in casinos.Otherwise shorts works for 94% of the dinners etc.Only 2 places inside require pants and sleeved shirts for men.I feel if my husband has a 3 button shirt and shorts and I have similar there has never been a issue since 1982 so don't overload on clothes. We have even decided to not dress on cruises and we get the same treatment and let them know every time how we feel.We go from cruise to 2-3 weeks in Aruba and can't bring suits and long dresses.Hope they all change to casual.
