    Restaurant Line Up

Leaving for paradise in a little over 3 weeks. The wife and I have been putting a restaurant list together with some places we have never tried. We usually have MJ's, The Driftwood & Passions on our list but we have been reading about others on our forum and have first hand information from some of our friends that have dined at the ones we have never tried. Here is what it looks like.

La Vista (Seafood night, we have been)
    LG Smith's (Never been)
    Flying Fishbone (Never been)
Carte Blanche (Neber been but already have reservations)
Hostaria Da Vittorio (Always go, our favorite Italian, better than Gianni's imo)
    Buccaneer (Never been)
    Papiamento (Never been)

Interesting - as I would imagine whether you have a car, or will be in a taxi, or whether you want to explore other parts of the island is a consideration???? Also, depends on what type of experience you are seeking (on the beach, downtown, off the beaten-path).

Yes, definately have car and we do get around. As far as experience, we have done all of the above but at different restaurants. By the way cpjones, of course you could join us!

It's so hard to decide with all the great spots on the Island. We have our standard few - and always try to get some new ones in on each trip. It has become a bit harder with having a baby... Not sure when we will get to try Carte Blanche or 2 Fools....

I like your list!!! Papiamento is a restaurant I have been meaning to try since 2008 and still havent gotten to. I will get there before 2013 is done!

The only restaurant my wife and I have been to on EVERY one of our 10 trips to Aruba is Pincho's --- it kind of has become tradition to go the first or last night on the Island.

Have had drinks many times at Pincho's but never ate there. Have heard all good things about it though.

Had discussed Barefoot but we ran out of nights! One of the reasons we never tried Flying Fishbone was the drive.

I totally obsess when deciding on restaurants. From your list we've only been to Carte Blanche (original location) and LG Smith. Carte Blanche was fabulous, however, you really have to be open minded and let them create your meal. We ended up at LG smith when we were foolish enough to think Yemanja might be open on a Sunday night. The taxi driver thought it was as well so we ended up asking up him to drop us off at the Crystal Casino. Staff at LG Smith was kind enough to seat us without a reservation and the food was superb. The atmosphere was lovely but we prefer a more local vibe. I would, however,go back in a heart beat!! For our uocoming trip we have reservations at Barefoot. Other places we are considering are Costa Riba, Queens restaurant and Bingo.
