restaurant question

Last night my husband and I went out and was told about this restaurant...Nos Cunucu Ponton...we were asking for authentic Aruba food. Is anyone aware of this place? Is it worth trying? Thanks!

Very authentic and rustic. Real Aruban food.

We haven't yet eaten there but we know folks who have.

It looks like a house from the front. The restaurant is in the back.

it is definately a "not fine dining" experience.
it is inexpensive food, authentic aruban and pretty good
husband had goat stew there 2x and i had grilled chicken once and keshi yena once.
balashi was cheap......maybe $1.50 or less

many barnyard animals milling about
we had a peacock that walked by the table and stared at us the whole time
there were neighbor kids chasing 2 donkeys around the barnyard and the parking area. those kids were having fun.
rustic is THE word.
AUTHENTIC is another good description.

How's the Keshi Yena? Sounds like a place dd would love for sure with all the free entertainment.

We've been to Nos Cunucu a couple of times and love it. You will probably be the only Americans there. It is a little on the rustic side so it's not for everyone but the food and service is good and it's very inexpensive. They serve alot of local dishes, stews, fish, pan bati, funchi, etc.

Why?

The locals eat at Nos Cunucu and LaGranja.

(We do like Gasparito, but it is more strongly Dutch than Aruban.)

the keshi yena was good, but was not as good as tulip's keshi yena.
yes charlie would love the place.

you and jerry may be a bit overwhelmed at first by the rusticness (is that a word)

when we went in may, one of the neighbors had his monkey on a leash right at the entrance. he was cute but had a mean disposition. oh well maybe wasn't that cute. paul was yelling t me not to touch it. so i did.

i will reply to your email once i wake up

Okay, KY, not as good as...can stay home for dh's ...If C. wants to see a monkey she can go to the zoo...and we do plan on a stop at the Donkey Sancturary in December, so that will have to suffice for a wildlife experience.

Ah...the monkey to which you referred? Some one just posted their very nice album of Aruba vacation photos including him of course.

But KY (yum) is a Dutch dish.

One can go to Nos Cunucu for Aruban dishes as well.
