Love grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato rice soup. Great lunch on a cold day.

It's your Amish background... you were too busy doing barn raisings.

The islander grill has improved greatly over the years a big turnaround. My favorite dinner item there is the Chicken Margherita. Its a corn flake breaded chicken breast with marina sauce stuffed with Gouda Cheese. Oh how I love Gouda Cheese! It's served with spagetti and you get a small salad with it all for $18.00. In June I went for Italian Night and had an Italian Burger which was with Mozzarella cheese and it came with an italian salad with mortadella, proccuitto, mozzarella. All for like $12.

Hey I just checked out the new lunch menu and its not bad at all. They have sliders, Kesha Yena and a lot more interesting salads. They make great salads there and I'm going to need it after my last A1C blood sugar test which came out too high. Doctor gave me one last chance to get it down with diet, exercise and weight lost or else I go on medication. I have 10 weeks until next test.

    Here is the menu.

Yes but the type of pickle varies. I like bread and butter pickles with grilled cheese.

Pickles are served with everything in the north east...I myself don't mind them but I don't eat them.

My view of pickles is tainted. Jon could be on one of those my Wierd obsession TV shows about his love for dillpickles. We can't go into the grocery store without buying them.
We see then with a lot of sandwiches, but never thought about it with grilled cheese.

Bugaloe has a grilled cheese with gouda that I would put up against any sandwich, I don't think they serve pickles either.
7 trips in and still finding things to love. Trip #8 coming November 2017!

When my SIL Ann spoke with the new chef at Islander he was surprised to hear that pickles are generally served with a sandwich. We didn't even bother to get into coleslaw! lol

Like Jay said - pickles are on everything around here and I don't eat any of them. Apparently they are served with everything in California too!

Omg... just had grilled cheese (using three different types of cheese) with tomatoes, . had to use bread & butter pickles on the side and tomato soup.
Try using mayo vs butter on the bread. Been doing it for some time and its so yummy and grills better
