Last night (April 10th) my wife and I dined at MJ for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Chef Kasi I want to thank you again for a planning a fantastic evening for us! This was by far the best dining experience that we have ever had at MJ.
We were promptly seated at our reservation time of 8pm. Dining room was at capacity. Our waitress promptly took our drink order within a few minutes of being seated. Drinks arrived a few minutes later. A classic Mojito for me and a Heinsinburg(sp) for my wife. (Mojito was just the way it should be. Not to sweet with a hefty portion of rum and many mint leaves). We had a total of two of these drinks each before the night was over.
For appetizers, we both had the lettuce wedge. Each plate had three wedges of lettuce with a blue cheese dressing topped with chopped up smoked bacon bits. Excellent.
For main course, I had the Old Butcher Steak cooked medium rare and my wife had smoked salmon. My steak is hard to describe as it was perfectly cooked, charred on the outside but cut like butter, topped with potatoes and crusted onions. My wife loved her salmon (I am not a fish eater so I didn't try it).
At the end of dinner, the waitress asked if we wanted to see the desert menu and we both said no because we were full and we would just have coffee to end the night. A few minutes later, Chef Kasi sends out a desert spoon that was enough for four people. Even though we were both full, we had to try this. It consists of ice cream, whipped cream, different berries, fruit and fried bread pieces. It was excellent. We ate about half and couldn't take another bite.
It was a nice paced dinner. We were not rushed at all and the waiters were very friendly and attentive. We spent about two hours from start to finish.
I want to again thank Chef Kasi and his staff for an excellent dining experience. We could not have asked for a better evening. We will be returning again very soon, probably within the next week.
