What is your review of Passions?

We were there 1x about 4 or 5 or maybe more years ago.

Was there about four years ago too. I thought the atmosphere was wonderful with the exception of the washrooms, however, I thought the food was average. Much prefer Barefoot for beach dining. IMO

i have a problem with eating "on the sand"
at least with barefoot and marina pirata, there is an option

i also have great difficulty getting comfortable in the chairs in the garden section of madam janette.
the decorative stones/gravel make it difficult to sit comfortably.
so decking/porch is my preference...not sand, not stones. something solid

We went to Passions with another couple in 2008. Reservation was for 6:00PM so we'd be there for the sunset. The folding chairs covered in sheets are impossible to adjust in the sand. You just can't pull the chair in closer to the table because the legs are deep into the sand.

We ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner. Dinner was nowhere to be seen. We asked and asked and were fed some line that it was the kitchen's fault or the waitress' fault. Dinner arrived around 9:30PM-10:00PM. They apologized and offered us a free dessert. We just paid the check and left. I honestly don't remember the quality of the food. At least the sunset was lovely.

I realize our experience was atypical but it is food for thought.

We were there in 2011 and it was our last time. We really enjoy dining on the beach, but the food and service were average at best. At this point we don't plan on returning, as there are to many other places on our list that we want to try.

We tried it a few years ago.... service good.... atmosphere wonderful.... and food OK. Overall a good experience without the total 'WOW' factor. Restrooms were quite rustic......! With the package we selected with AM this year, dinner at Passions is included. Hope it's better this time around.....

We go every year, along with MJ's and soon to be quinta. It's nice to watch the sunset and have a good meal.

While we enjoy Passions, it seems to be getting pushed down on the ladder rung....and new ones jumping up to the top.
i will say this, the location and atmosphere is superb there.

We've been twice and had good food and service both times. I can see where the chairs in the sand can be annoying. Love the sunset and the nice lighting after dark. We are going this year on Easter, mostly because it is within walking distance. It's on my "good option list", but not my "have to go to" list.
