Haven't been. Not a big fan of the feet in the sand dining concept I guess. Also didn't find the menu appealing. I have seen very good reviews on other forums though.

at least with barefoot and marina pirata, there is an option

i also have great difficulty getting comfortable in the chairs in the garden section of madam janette.
the decorative stones/gravel make it difficult to sit comfortably.
so decking/porch is my preference...not sand, not stones. something solid
We usually ask for a table on the deck at MJs too.

My wife and I ate there December 4, 2014 and it was the highlight of our first visit to Aruba. We had reservations for 6:00 to allow us to enjoy and photograph the sunset from the beach. Yes, the chairs are in the sand and it was not easy moving them around, but that we appreciated as part of the unique setting. We had a similar setting at the Flying Fishbone several nights later but that experience was much less enjoyable. Our waiter, Robert, was Dutch and not looking forward to his tour of service in Aruba coming to an end but he helped make the evening very memorable. As I mentioned above this was our first visit and we were not used to the laid back life style of "One Happy Island" but this experience helped with that. This year we are returning for 15 days / 14 nights. Back to Passions: the total for our dinner, including drinks, dessert, and 20% tip was $160 (US). We did share an entrée but that was never an issue. On our next trip we will make sure to include this one (and Madame Jeannette's) again.

We had dinner at Passions for the first time this trip.. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect.. We were there for dinner at sunset which was amazing.. the white chair covers and table cloths along with the white lights around palyapas and the colored lights on table that constantly changed were a very soothing touch.. Yes the chairs may be a little difficult to manuever in the sand but what do you expect for sitting in the sand.
The food was very good I arrived promptly and hot... yes the bathrooms are rustic (porta potties) I didn't have to go while we were there so thats good. I think its definately worth it.. had a great night our waiter was a young man very socialable..

I didn't know about the rustic bathrooms! That just doesn't work for me.
