We have never been but we met some people on the bea ch that raved about the food. He kept saying I'm from NY and that was some good food even by my standards. And how is this for service, it was late on either Labor Day or Queens Day and instead of having them wait for a cab and pay the surcharge, the chef drove them back to their hotel! We haven't been but that story always stuck with me.
Not sure when, but we will be back

the food is very very good there.
in the evenings the parking lot is PACKED
    reservations are probably necessary.

we were there with 2 other couples a few years ago ...we shared the antipasti, all had either veal or chicken parm and 0 room for dessert or even coffee.

considering squeezing it in during our upcoming trip.
too many restaurants, not enough nights

My first impression on reading the menu is that it's quite expensive.

We always enjoy our dinner here. We plan it towards the end of our trip when we are "steaked" out (we don't eat seafood). DH is gluten free and they are always accommodating and he has never had any issues. I hear people say they are expensive, I guess I never paid attention. Probably because we have always left full and happy!

We ate there 3 years ago and were not impressed so have not been back. I had the Fettuccini Alfredo and DW had the lemon chicken. Both were OK but not anything special, especially for the price. Of course this was from a single visit and they may have had an off night but there are too many good places to go if you get a bad meal on your first trip. Only a limited number of nights to find good food. The Alfredo was not very creamy and DW said the Lemon Chicken was super strong. We have been spoiled by a restaurant that is no longer on the island. Alfredos had the best chicken fettuccini alfredo and chicken piccata. Wish they would open again somewhere.

We were pleasantly surprised with our visit. They served a complimentary dish of fried polenta with marinara that was quite good. The veal parm was delicious. I would go back.

We ate there last year and enjoyed it very much. We had the Pasta Formaggio for 2 and though we thought it to be pricy for pasta it was still fairly reasonable, compared to some of the other dining options that we've tried.

I find the food and prices to be almost the same at Sole Mar and Azzurro --- At Azzuro (Playa Linda) at least you get the ambiance and ocean view.

The food is average at best italian food. The cheese wheel pasta is extremely tasty but in no way worth what they charge for it. They let you add on meatballs or sausage for 10? dollars.
