i always loved both.
a year or so ago, i had thought peanuts had closed, but it had not.
folks really need to get downtown to check out some of thes smaller less known places.
This thread has given me so many places to consider for our next trip.
We're great fans of Chef's Tables - always top notch food and service, dessert tapas to die for, never crowded and you can easily converse with your dinner mates
April/May in Aruba - ahhh
We filmed part of the show there - sadly, it didn't make the edit.
But we went back on our last trip and had a great lunch there - cheap too!
Some of my least known favorite's are: Bavaria (Besides great German food, they also serve delicious Thai food), Tulip (The best and freshest melt-in-your-mouth grouper I have ever had on the island), and Ellioti's (really good Italian). I am now on count-down to Aruba and will soon be visiting all three of these places!
We went to The Old Fisherman for lunch about 4 years ago. The food was pretty good. Don't order mixed drinks. My wife went with the expensive sangria.Okay, so no one has mentioned The Old Fisherman, downtown and between the bus depot and the Ren? Sorry to hijack but is there a reason? We will stay at the Ren Marina for the last night of our June trip and try to hit this spot on one night and thought that would be the night.
We ate at Gostoso last year and really enjoyed it. La Granja was a cheap and tasty stop on the way back from San Nicolas. I liked Driftwood downtown for a reasonable dinner. Casa Vieja near the airport has a cheap lunch. Zeerover has great fresh fish. Hoping to go back there this July. We like Pizza Bob's for a lazy Sunday pizza lunch just coming off the beach.
