Salt and Pepper- UGH

Hi All-

This year is our third trip to Aruba. We are having a great time and I thought I would let you all know that we went to Salt and Pepper the other night for dinner. Last year's meal and service was terrific and we thought we would try it again. Good food and prices.

YUCK. Food was over cooked, flies everywhere and service was horrible. I think our server could not wait to get rid of us (and I remembered them from last year) And besides that, over priced. Last year my husband loved the LARGE beer that was offered (great after a day in the sun) and this year, not ever suggested. My pasta was a large portion, but the pasta and sauce was like mud. So was the seafood in it. Worst thing, is we were among one of the first dinner tables and no one asked us if everything was ok.

Not sure if we'll return next year to Salt and Peppers. Anyone else had this same experience?

Can't say I've ever had a problem at salt and pepper.

yuck is right
i hope that you sent the food back and/or they adjusted the bill accordingly

so unfortunate when one of the "favorites" gives us a letdown

Sorry to hear that one of our favorites disappointed you! We always look forward to S & P for lunch because of price, quality and selection. Have honestly never considered it for dinner.. the limited dinner menu and your experience cements our 'not for dinner choice'... The poor service really surprises me... not like them at all...

Sorry to hear the food was unacceptable. We always enjoyed going there to share some tapas in the afternoon with a couple of beers...
Too bad, will maybe stop in anyway and see if we have the same experience.
One negative comment I do have is that for many years if you brought a set of unique salt and pepper shakers to the restaurant they gave you a free bottle of wine...we took a set in and never did get wine. We asked once and the waiter said he would tell the mngr, but he didn't do anything either....so I assumed they do not do that anymore, but would have been nice and told us upfront.

danadog56... Actually it's a glass of sangria, but my wife was able to sub pinot grigio without a problem.. we've done the shaker thing a couple of times without a problem. Thinking back.... maybe it's the cheap Amstel Brights that I love so much about S & P... nah... I love the brushetta (2.50 is a steal), the tapas and my wife loves the little greek salad.... did I mention the Amstel Brights...!!!!?

Was it always sangria ??? Either way, nobody at my table was offered anything.....Maybe I will have to find some unique S/P shakers to take down again this year.....The tapas are our favorites also,,,order a few of them and everyone gets a taste and you don't walk away feeling stuffed at lunch....can save that feeling for dinner at MJ's.....

danadog56.... Big OOPS!... With a salt and pepper shaker it IS a free glass of wine as listed on their menu.... I'm positive that it was origionally for a glass of sangria because I do remember 'negotiating for the wine' for my wife! Sorry... In any event.... did I mention how much I really enjoy the cheap Amstel Brites..?
