Saturday night at Nikky beach with
"Private Service Bar
- Raised Platform Sight Lines"
I will be perfectly blunt in saying that I would definitely not want to be staying at the Ocean suites.
From my review of Pinchos in 2008
"...there was an open air Christian Revival going on nearby with a rock band and lots of praise the lords and hallelujah. The restaurant was directly downwind so it was just that much louder and may as well have been right next door."I did not add it to my post at that time, but the restaurant personnel told us that the event was being held at the "stadium". The "stadium" IS the Aruba Entertainment Center.
Is it too late to trade? Can you request a suite on the north side? That is if I had to stay there at all.
FWIW, this old fuddy duddy would avoid dinner at Barefoot those evenings as well.

The island is a lot more crowded for this festival period. We flew down for the 5 days before memorial day and the week of in 2009. From thursday through monday we couldnt find a parking place in town, restaurants were packed, beaches were crowded too. We stayed memorial week at the Renaissance but did not hear any excesive noise. Our room was on the 4th floor facing north though. Stayed at the Westin the first 4 nights. There were cars parked all along the road there in front and on the side road.
The bonus of that trip was that on our flight from MIA to AUA we were sitting in first class in the second row of seats and Jamie Foxx got on in MIA and sat in front of us. He talked to everybody during the flight. Even let us take pictures of him and gave us autographs. Real nice guy.
The only time I remember it being more crowded was when we were down there when Sinbad was doing his one hot summer shows for HBO.
We decided not to go memorial week this year for the crowding reason. we are going 2 weeks earlier than normal for us.
