In Search Of Gregory Formerly of Hadicurari

I'm hoping a local or ultra-frequent traveler can help out here. We were first in Aruba from August 31st - September 7th, staying at the Marriott Surf Club where we'll stay from now on. At the time, the manager of Hadicurari was a lovely gentleman by the name of Gregory, and my 2 year old was quite smitten by him.

Sadly, when we returned just this past December 8th, we learned (to Gregory's good fortune) that he had left to open his own Japanese Restaurant somewhere around Bubali Plaza. I couldn't exactly get the precise location from the folks at Hadicurari, and didn't want to press the issue. I was told that the restaurant was where a place called "Ask Joey" was, yet the cab drivers hadn't heard of it.

Does ANYONE know anything about this new place ? You would not forget Gregory's charm, that's for sure. We're hoping to go back in the beginning of May and would like to see Gregory. If anyone can help, thanks !

Villa Germania

This is a hidden little gem. Downtown at the Seaport, Villa Germania has the best crepes for breakfast and excellent German style food for Dinner. You can either eat outside or inside. This restaurant owner is always on site and the food is consistently good (year after year.)

One of our favorite downtown places is a small Indian restaurant a block or so behind the Renaissance Marina side. We have eaten dinner there 3 times and it was great every time. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I think we have eaten dinner in Aruba 17 times and never had a bad meal. A really memorable one was part of an all day package at Tierra del Sol. After an afternoon of relaxing, massage for two, sauna, and jacuzzi, we had a private dinner out on the 9th hole tee, with a private waiter at sunset. It was a little windy, but great. I don't remember what we paid for the whole day (less than $400 I think, including all tips etc), but it was worth it.

I need to get back to Aruba!!!

Jesuis1837, I agree, so many good choices. How long will it be before you are there ? I'm not going till Nov. so I have lots of time to investigate. There are so many here, I might just print this up and save till I'm ready to make some reservations.

Cuba's Cookin.
Small Cuban restaurant located downtown, about a block before El Gaucho's. If you were to walk from downtown to El Gaucho's, Cuba's is on the left, diagonally across from the Polis station. Very good Cuban food with entertainment nightly.

I didn't make it to Cuba's this last time, and I'm sorry I didn't. Very reasonably priced also.
