    Tell me about Passions!

First trip to Aruba in Nov 2013. Tell me about your experience at Passions. Any other favorite romantic restaurants on the beach?

For me.... Passions has a wonderful ambiance and just OK food! Don't think I'll dine there again with all the other options! Lot's of folks will disagree on the food part... but that's my opinion!

I've noticed in a couple of videos that it is windy. Is it TOO windy to enjoy the meal at the beach? I really want to be close to the water and watch the sunset.

We've dined at Passions many times (at least once per trip) over the years and have never had a problem with the wind. It's one of our favorite places to watch the sunset, have drinks and dinner with "toes in the sand" and listen to some lovely music.

We used to like Flying Fishbone until they added too many tables to their small beach area which took the "romance factor" away.

Also like Old Man & The Sea for romantic dining on the beach by the water.

    do you mean Moombas?

if so, Moombas is real laid back, outdoor beach setting, but not at all high end, not in a longshot. It is a great place to go for some cold beer, frozen drinks a burger or something of that kind. They do a huge business during the day and at happy hour and evenings. If you like burgers, fries, wings etc....Moombas is one of your many choices. It is right there on the beach near Marriott Surf.

location on the beach between the holiday inn and marriott surf.

I see from your other posts that you will be staying at Aruba Beach Club. Casa Del Mar is attached to ABC and has a great seaside restaurant called Matthews. We eat there every trip at least once. Its great for breakfast too. If you like fish and ocean sunsets, try the Pelicans nest for grilled grouper around 06:00 pm. $21 gets you a large portion of grilled grouper, rice and grilled veggies while you watch the sunset at the end of Pelican pier. It is located on Palm beach between Holiday Inn and Playa Linda.

Try Pinchos which is located just past town. Although it is not on the beach, it is on the water and is a nice romantic setting at sunset and beyond. Also, in my humble opinion, I believe the food at Pinchos is a cut above Passions and some of the other beach restaurants.

Thank you everyone. I've read lots of positive reviews about Matthews. I didn't realize it was so close. I'll put that on my list. Thank you arubabob.
