Thumbs down Tony Romas

Ah yes, just got back from having dinner at Tony Roma's - it never fails to disappoint. When will they learn that you need to put ribs on the fire again after you put the sauce on? Luke warm ribs, after a 20 minute wait, with sauce right out of the bottle is not what I call tasty. The price - $28 dollars a plate before drinks or any extras - almost 50% more than I would expect to pay and 70% more than they are worth. And oh, don't be lured by the coupons you see for this restaurant - they will find a way to somehow not be able to honor them. The manager, the one standing around doing nothing, will tell you why you have been duped. There are plenty of good rib houses on the Island, Tony Roma's isn't one of them

If you want the best ribs on the island just walk right down the street to Smokey Joes!

Totally agree. Too many good local restaurants in Aruba to get stuck at Tony Roma's. I do love Smokey Joe's-it's convenient and has some great drinks to go with the yummy ribs but I am drooling reading about Kings on the bb.

The next time we have ribs, I'm going to try Kings. We really like Smokey Joe's ribs, but it was as much to take our boys as anything else. Now that my husband and I are going solo, I'd like to try a new place.

We've never been to Tony Roma's, but we went to one in Las Vegas once when we were downtown on Freemont St.. We got steaks, and they were surprisingly good for the price.

Tony Roma - Hooters - TGI Fridays - or anything else found in the states may be grand if you are traveling with little ones, but Aruba has too many fine Chef's turning out great meals to spend time or money on corporation menus that we can find when at home.

Good to know, we will not be eating at Tony's. I have heard nothing but good things about Smokey Joe's.
