Sunday 8/26/12 – Senor Frogs – not our favorite. We had a few drinks and some nachos, with chicken. The first meal there after getting in and hubby was disappointed. First thing we learned was that the beers are much smaller in Aruba than they are in the US and that there isn’t much on draft! Hubby had his first Balashi, he prefers Heinken. Very slow here too so because we were tired and had not even checked into our hotel yet not a great experience for us.
Monday 8/27/12 – Barefoot on the beach. They are not kidding about on the beach; your feet are in the sand! The food was great, they made a spread for their bread out of sun dried tomatoes and black olives that was amazing. Hubby had the Grouper Romana and I had the Caribbean Grouper. Service was awesome.
Tuesday 8/28/12 – Matthew’s All You Can Eat Rib Night, they were great and they are not kidding about all you can eat. The sunset was gorgeous! I had the Mahi and it was really good. Another place where the service was excellent!
Wednesday 8/29/12 – ate in Curacao for breakfast at a place on the water, bacon and cheese omelet didn’t have the bacon inside.
Thursday 8/30/12 – Pincho’s Grill and Bar. This is a restaurant right on the pier and one of my favorites I would say I had Wahoo for my first time loved it, the sunset was the best we had seen so far. We had a great appetizer here as well but I can’t find their menu online and I can’t remember what it was now. I really wish I had written all this stuff down! Service was fabulous here.
Friday 8/31/12 – Lunch at Cilo’s. We both got the Grouper Club. We hunted all over the island for a fried grouper sandwich but couldn’t find one anywhere. This was the closest we came. They had a breaded grouper salad and we asked them to make their pan fried grouper sandwich with the grouper from the salad, they did. It was excellent. Their crab cakes were also awesome, the sauce they served with it was almost like a Russian dressing and very tasty.
Friday night hubby was tired of fish so we went to Amazonia. I was not happy about eating steak in the Caribbean since all I wanted was fish but it was very good. Their salad bar had a ton of choices and they had a lot of meat on a stick! It was plentiful and the service was great. We left very full!
Saturday 9/1/12 – Lunch at Moomba Beach Bar, had a yummy shrimp wrap and a frozen cocktail! Hubby had a Fish Sandwich with fries also very good.
Saturday night we drove out to Zeerovers and I am so glad we did. Fresh Shrimp and King Fish! It was quite the place to experience as well. I had no idea what to expect, a nice guy helped us figure out what to do and we even saw the owner of our hotel there. Definitely worth a trip out there!
Sunday 9/2/12 – Our last day and we had a full day of flying so we went over to Moomba Beach Bar for their breakfast buffet. $11.95 and a great selection. Eggs, waffles, pancakes, French toast, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cheese rolls, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast. Nothing to complain about and helped us stay full until we could get something else to eat way later!
We ate breakfasts at the hotel because we had a full kitchen and we were on the go so much that some days we missed lunch so I didn't get to try all the places I wanted. I guess that's another reason to go back!
We had a couple of appetizers, one was goat cheese fritters another was conch fritters, can't remember where we had each but they were both fabulous!
