    Vegan Restaurants HELP

My daughters friend might be traveling to Aruba with us in September

it will be nice for her to have a playmate( 22 yrs old)

    HOWEVER she is Vegan.
    Anyone know any vegan restaurants?
We will be dropping them off places to eat.

    check out this website/blog
the young woman author/contributor has a lot of photos and alot of veganrestaurants that she and her boyfriend went to while in aruba

while many restaurants are not advertised as vegan or vegetarian......many of them will accommodate vegan diners.

Vegan is tough because it's so restrictive. Indian restaurants are generally a good option. LG Smiths surprisingly has a vegetable Wellington that would probably work. More and more you see restaurants trying to be accomodating.

i am pretty certain there are no or very few vegan restaurants.
however, many will serve vegan meals.

there are some folks who follow a vegan lifestyle that will not set foot in any restaurant that serves non-vegan food.
(my nephew's wife is a strict vegan who would not eat food at carrabbas. she chose a grilled veggie platter as her entree, but found out the food was grilled on the same grill that grilled meat/fish. she passed.)

Your nephew must be a saint to tolerate that . If my daughter's friend is that strict she's going to hate the smell of bacon every morning from our timeshare kitchen!

Our (Cindy and my) restaurant selection won't be impacted. Thank God this friend is an adult, she (and my daughter) can go anywhere they choose. We'll continue our search for "the perfect grouper", our favorite Aruban dish.

I have good friends from California that are strict vegans. I am still friends with them on facebook but had no choice but to unfollow them there. Their beliefs have become so extreme that I now classify them as "zealots". If I talk on the phone with them, no problem. But I told them I had to unfollow them because they were getting on my last nerve, lol, on facebook. Same thing with "political preachers". I LOVE the "unfollow" button on facebook.

My BFF in Germany is a strict vegan, I have just visited her and learned a lot about the vegan life style. I myself have been a vegetarian for decades, with small "interruptions".

Some of the Sushi restaurants in Germany offer vegan items, maybe it's the same in Aruba?

Chinese restaurants offers many vegan items, as a lot of the items on the menu are made of rice, veggies and spices.

Subway may be an option, they offer vegan as well. I'm not sure if they have it in Aruba:

Then the grocery stores! In the meantime, many grocery stores offer vegan products. As an example (not sure what the products would be in Aruba):

"Bacon", "sausage" etc made of GMO-free Tofu:

Another great item are the Gardine meatless burgers:

There should also plenty of dairy-free products in the grocery story, like almond milk, rice milk, coconut milk etc.

The product "Go Veggie" offers vegan Parmesan cheese and vegan Cream Cheese.

Just some ideas for your daughter's friend for breakfast or making a quick meal at home.
