10th Anniversary Ideas - Ring Blessing, Etc.

Hi:

My husband and I will be in Aruba for our wedding anniversary. I have some items in mind for the actual day of our anniversary (spa, dinner location, etc.). I'm toying around with a ring blessing - possibly at a church. And I'm thinking about photography, since we don't have many pix of the two of us (since our wedding). I'd like a car service and some flowers.

Is it worth getting a wedding/event planner to help out. What type of value will they add? Or is piecing something like this together easy to do by looking for services online? I used a wedding planner for my wedding and the value was marginal, but that was local and I had plenty of good service referrals.

Also, if anyone has other great ideas on how to spend our time after dinner, that would be great. We'll still be in celebration mode.

Thanks!

My wife (cindyo) and I did renewal of 20th on beach at sunset back in April. No planner, just a local reverend (Reverend Gibson) and a photographer from the "The News" who we hired to prepare a CD full of pictures. Very reasonable $$$$ and couldn't have been nicer.

Beach at jetty near Divi Phoenix....near Sunset Bistro....free of charge!

PM cindyo for details.

10th Wedding Annnversary

Congratulations on your upcoming 10th wedding anniversary. My husband and I renewed our wedding vows on the beach at sunset for our 40th and 45th wedding anniversary. We will be celebrating our 49th in January and plan to renew our vows again with a celebration with our children and grandchilden for our Golden (50th) in January 2010. My husband and I met at 16 and got married at 18 and had our first child at 19. We have been visiting Aruba several times a year for almost 30 years and feel like Aruba is our fantasy island and home away from home. What a wonderful island you have chosen to renew your wedding vows

Rev. gibson can be reached at www.arubaeloquent.com....give him time to respond. We made the initial contact via email, followed up on email, then contacted him when we arrived. He couldn't have been more nicer, didn't rush us, posed for pictures, blessed our rings and gave us a nice certificate. You would have thought he had know us forever by the ceremony. DO IT!!!!

Okay - Well I found out that 8/8/2008 is a busy wedding day in Aruba. I guess it's all the eights. We married 8/8/1998 and it was the same way.

At any rate, the ring blessing is out because no one is available. No big deal. So now it's spa and dinner - which will still be nice. I'd still like some pictures, but I'm betting the photographers are booked.

Can anyone recommend florists and photographers? I'd still like flower leis and some portraits if possible.

Thanks!
